Bajaj Auto has introduced an updated version of the Platina commuter motorcycle in India. Dubber Platina ES, the bike is priced at Rs. 44,507 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Platina ES, as its name suggests, comes equipped with an electric starter. The bike also gets a new cowl around the headlamp, redesigned side panels, an altered exhaust, new body graphics and three body colours - black, blue and red. Other features include a colour-coded grab handle, 5-spoke black alloy wheels, zero maintenance battery, 11.5-litre fuel tank, 110 mm front and rear drum brakes and a telescopic fork suspension at the front and dual shocks at the rear.
The Platina ES is powered by a 102 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, DTS-i engine that produces 8.1 bhp @ 7500 rpm and 8.6 Nm of torque @ 5000 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a 4-speed gearbox.
