Given that you are driving in Bangalore, that should be good.

This place is in Khapa forest range, to visit start from Nagpur to Saoner [33kms] and from Saoner to Khapa[8kms] and after 2 kms from Khapa take a left toward khekernala [25kms].

Nice shots pramod. Been reading this thread for last couple of days and been through your earlier VLX thread too (since the idea of getting a SUV - although I like the Safari more) has been floating in my head for a long time. I am getting interested in the new 4x4 mHawk Scorpio now - MT version due to it being much cheaper than a similar spec Safari.

Good to know that you are enjoying your vehicle as it is is meant to be, and have got through the initial troubles/accident part. Hope you continue to have fun in it.

Thanks Abhay, mHawk 4x4 manual is a good buy, I hope and pray that you get your 4x4 very soon, 4x4 just gives you that extra confidence that you need to explore areas outside of tarmac.

Beautiful pictures Pramod. The shades in the 3rd &4th pic#167) from top are mesmerising and so are the top 2 pics in last post. Glad to read your comments on 4X4 that it gives added confidence to explore sights away from tarmac and how true. Will be looking forward to more updates.

This is Unique and no Scorpio other than mine has this!!
Stickers are done and now its back to "original", I got the front door glass replaced, because it was having scratches, just to let you know the glasses in VLX is different than other version the VLX glass are tinted glass with code E2, while the other version are E1 and the latest SLE that I saw today had a chines made glasses, while the VLX are ISI marked ASAHI glasses, please observer that, day by day I see lots and lots of difference between these version apart from just electronics, the 3 channel ABS system seems to be capable of 4 channel as every thing is present, only missing is the connections, I see the connection for the 4 channel to be forced closed on this UNIT, xylo comes with 4 channel ABS ;-(
The FE with sedate driving seems to be getting better yet to hit reserve and already done 420 km.

Pramod its soothing to know that your scorpio is back to normal and that you have begun the long drives again.By the way, which company did you insure the Scorp with and were you satisfied with the way they handled the claims? asking this because I have an insurance renewal and am thinking about the company I'll insure with.

My Insurance is with Reliance, and the experience was good, I don't have to do any thing special, may be all this because I took the insurance directly from the Show Room itself, thats why they might have done all that they could to make sure things go as smooth as possible.
Some advantage of buying the insurance from the "Show Room" but you pay more than going on your own.

PS: Yesterday did my first free servicing, the total cost of the servicing was Rs2289/- this was for Engine Oil, Oil Filter and Differential Oil. A note of caution for 4x4 owner, please make sure before you go to servicing that service center do have equipment to open the "FRONT" differential to drain the oil!!, must of the service center might not have, I have to ask them to conform and then they arranged it before I went there[ I just got the clue from shatrughna thread].

@pramods: Although Spike/Mahindra may try to deny it, the diffs are Dana 44 clones. This means that any locker/LSD will fit the Diffs. The cover may look different but interiors will hold a dana 44 locker/lsd. The way to drain the oil front and back should be the same. So what is the special equipment required for front diff?

Pramod, which equipment are you talking about (for front differential)? Isn't it an Allen Key?

Spike

P.S. Thought of sharing this with you, might make you happy. One of the very prominent designers who has worked on the Scorpio AT belongs to your city Nagpur

Yes the Allen key, I am talking about, the dimension is different from rear differential.
@Spike, If possible do drop me a connecting PM/email, when ever he is in Nagpur would love to meet. Attached is the spec of South Africa Scorpio, I have marked the required option that need your help
2010 Scorpio Automatic 4x4: Initial Report-scorpiomld.jpg

Can we/I get this option here in India, and if yes how can we/I get that into our/my Scorpio, any help would be appreciated, I am ready to order from SA if this is made by some manufactures there in SA but would need a clear indication and possibility.

@pramods: Eaton is developing the LSD/MLD for Scorpio/Thar. We should hopefully see it as a dealer option in showrooms soons, but I would be really concerned about having it installed at A.S.S unless the tech new his stuff. I would much prefer to have my man Ali install it in my Scorpio.

I mean its already there in South Africa model as OEM option, so Mahindra have already certified this as OEM , so it would be better to know which one is this and if available why not have the option on our Scorpio.
I see the US site and the specs mentioned there have all 4 disc brake, 4 channel ABS, EBD ,Traction control and even the BHP is pushed to 140 from the same engine. EBD and Traction control is extended module based on ABS hardware, as the ABS there is 4 channel it will be difficult to use the same ECU's here.

Eaton already has developed it then. Guess your options are to wait until Mahindra remembers the step children in India and offers us an option or to import it from South Africa and have it installed here.

I could never understand why Mahindra likes to boast about auto lights/wipers/micro hybrid etc when they will save a few pennies and put in a 3-channel ABS. They money spend on developing and adding useless electronics could have been spend on enhancing safety features like EBD, TC, etc..

I fail to understand why this step motherly treatment to home country, each and every feature introduced cost and still people buy , they almost doubled the cost of Scorpio since launch and people still buy it so why not have the same optional LSD and MDL option here, I would wait to get some concreate info, which I beileve would only come with Indian Thar launch.
MDL would be a very good option to have provided used judicially.
