Any specific reasons to visit Devraj?

Also what was the cost of the steering cover?
Well actually Imperial guys do the steering cover, but it will be a Straight Stitching without the extension towards the Horn Pad and tucking underneath; hence i did not go with Imperial Leather.

Cost of Steering Cover @ Devraj is Standard as far as I got to know once you give TBHP reference and is at INR.900 (Please note the material used is Pure Leather)

Got my seat covers for Brio done from them. Really worth the amount we pay. Neat finish. Highly recommend this place for seat covers. They do give a two years warranty for stitching and material.

Re: Seat Covers: Imperial INC (Bangalore)

I got my ageing Baleno upholstered from Imperial, they do a really god job.
I have also got my Nano's steering and horn pad done from Devraj. Devraj's work is far superior when I compare it to the gear knob done by Imperial.
Devraj is a steering specialist and Imperial are seat specialists. Both of them are very nice guys.
Material: is artificial leather Imperial calls it deerskin

Re: Seat Covers: Imperial INC (Bangalore)

Had a query if someone has tried this here. Need to change the contours of the seat and add/extend the under thigh support of the existing seat. Basically i want to make stock Thar seats as comfy as Swift.

Is this a project worth trying at Imperial or should i just fish for a second hand seat from outside?

When I talked to Imperial about putting some more thigh support for the Lancer rear seat, he discouraged it (saying shape retention etc). Maybe its because, he has fixed dimensions for the car, which he uses to stitch.
No harm in asking for your needs, I guess.
Would be interesting to know updates.

Hi people,

I have bought a 2009 model ford Ikon 1.4TDci, I'm the third owner and the vehicle has run 56,000 km. I paid 1.87L for it. I hope this is a good deal?

Exterior: There are a few scratches but no major dents. The paint looks a little dull, surely a good rubbing/polishing job will make the car look even better.

Interior: This is where I feel I've been given a raw deal, I was in a hurry so couldn't wait around for the perfect vehicle. The roof has been combed roughly with a brush and is in a very bad shape, the carpets have been torn off and the seat covers are torn and dirty to say the least.

To sum it up, even 3M refused to detail the interiors saying it'll be a waste of money. Ford asked 25k to do up the roof and carpets which is more than what I intend to spend.

After this comes the vehicle servicing at Ford and then come the accessories if I have any money left!

Bangalorean Tbhpians, can you please suggest good, affordable upholstery shops?

For seat covers, Imperial, Kalsson, Ovion and the like will do quite a good job. I was particularly impressed by the perfect fit of the covers made at Karlsson. I'm assuming your looking at art leather seat covers, and most quote reasonable prices for the same. Do look at the Bangalore directory for more such upholstery shops.

I have not seen upholstery guys doing the roof lining and carpet, but I think it should be possible. You could try your luck with any of them. Even an enterprising sofa upholsterer could possibly do it. Again, try your luck!

And about Fords prices, well that's tyical of them, isn't it? They really seem intent on burning large holes in our unsuspecting pockets. Perhaps after the Ecosport, spares and service are the largest sources of the company's profit

Friends, I am not getting the time to either visit Devaraj@JC Road and Imperial folks due to very busy schedule. Can you please suggest some good vendor for seat covers around Whitefield,Ramamurthy Nagar, Kalyan Nagar (Basically Bangalore East).

Request to Mods : If inappropriate please move to correct thread.

Re: Seat Covers: Imperial INC (Bangalore)

I'd like have your views on my thoughts. I'm staying in Pune. What is it with the preference towards leather? I heard/read that they cause significant heat and sweating. Then why not prefer fabric seat covers? Is it only for the aesthetic appeal?

Re: Seat Covers: Imperial INC (Bangalore)

My 6yr old Punto seat covers are falling apart.

How long do they take to complete the job ? If I give them the car on Saturday/Sunday morning, do I get it back in a few hours ? Any prior appointments needed ?

Re: Seat Covers: Imperial INC (Bangalore)

Hello Folks,

I have ordered PU Leather covers from Imperial Leathers for my Verna 4S.
I visited them on 20th July and placed the order. Mr. Shiv is a very professional guy, he showed various shades and even walked with us to the car to compare the available shades of beige and which would match best along with the existing interior colors.
The shop is closed on Sundays. He has asked for 1 weeks time to prepare the seat covers and I am supposed to visit on 27th July to get the fitting done. It should take around 2 hours.
He quoted 8000/- for seat covers but upon my T-bhp mention he reduced it to 7.5k. He said he would add 2 neck pillows from his side, which I refused and took additional 300/- off. So the seat covers will cost me 7200/-. Seems to be a decent deal. Will click pics when I go for the fitting.

Eagerly waiting for Monday.

Got my PU seat covers fitted at imperial leathers today on my Punto. I placed the order last week. The fitting today took 2 hrs.

Good, professional job done by Shivkumar and team. Paid 7.5K, and got neck pillows and a steering cover ( made of PU leather ) as well.

You will need to go and decide on the colour combination & design of the seats. They will give you an appointment for around a week later to get it fitted which should take 2 - 3 hours.

Re: Seat Covers: Imperial INC (Bangalore)

Hey everyone. I got the seat covers for my Verna done at Imperial Leathers.

I visited the shop on 20th July and met Mr. Shiv. He was extremely polite and showed the options available along with the prices. I decided to go for PU Leather in Butterscotch color. He initially quoted 8000/- for it, but with little negotiating, he settled for 7200/-. The appointment for fixed for 27th July, 10AM. Paid an initial amount of 1500/- and left the place.
I got a reminder call from Mr. Shiv confirming my appointment 2 days prior (on 25th July).
I got stuck in the Bangalore traffic and managed to reach at 10:15AM. His men were waiting for me and as soon as I reached, they started the work of removing the seats.

They carried the seats to their workshop located nearby and asked me to lock the vehicle and accompany them.

Each one in his team has a specific role. One guy does the front seats, one guy does the rear base, one does the armrests and headrests and so on. I was impressed by their methodical approach. In no time, the new covers were being stitched onto the seats with utmost care for finesse.

By 11:15AM, the seat covers were in place and they moved in unison to re-attach the seats to the car. It took them a couple of minutes and soon the job was done. At 11:30AM, Mr Shiv came and checked the final result. He cleaned a few stains on the seats with foam and a fabric cleaner. He handed me the foam and mentioned that if I happened to notice a stain he and his team had overseen, I could whip it off myself.

Mr. Shiv gave 2 years warranty on the covers. At 11:45AM, I bid adieu to him and drove off, mighty happy with the work done by Imperial Leathers.

Here are the pics with the covers:
