In fact, he challenged my friend to go to any JBL dealer and ask them whether the speakers are fake and that he will refund the money if the speakers were told to be fake.
Since its grey market, dealer made money like this:

7950 = app 200
937 = app 400
1265 = app 200

Total app 800

now dont ask me how

Hi Guys,

Need some help once again , Here is what i plan to do to my car hopefully things go as per plan. I plan to make some changes to my existing setup here are the details.

Existing setup
Front: Boston Pro60 Components
Rear: Pioneer Ovals 4 way
Amp: JBL GTO 75.4
HU: Pioneer 6850

Planned new Changes
Front: Existing Bostons or Rockford fosgate Components, Haven't seen them as yet as i need to collect it this Saturday. (Gift by generous uncle) PLease give your comments on this if it'll be a good match have no clue just know that they Rockford is a good brand.

Rear: Boston Components New or Existing ones depending on the Front setup.
Amp: 75.4 for front and rear components.
Now comes the tough part for the SUB.
Amp: JBL 301.1 (any suggestions)
SUB: Please help.
I am trying to keep the Sub and AMP cost to around 15k.

The installation will be done by Anwar, Koramangala Bangalore. I have seen his job and it's far better than all the installers in Goa.

Thanks,
Anshu

what dont you like about the Pro60? If you like them, why not get a seond pair for the rear instead of RF?

at 15K for a sub and an amp you are going to have to either get a smaller amp or a lesser sub. The JBL 301.1 is about 12K for a bit less you can get the JBL CS 300.1 (about 10K). The JBL GT4-12 sub is about 5.5K but once you put it in a box think 7K. so you can get a JBL CS 300.1 + GT4-12 in a box for about 17K.

Hi Navinji, I like the Bostons, The rockford is a gift and wasn't in my plan. I was to get a second set of Bostons for the rear. Ok 15K out of the window, what would be a good combination of Amp and Sub keeping in mind that my orignal budget was 15k.

No JBL does not automatically come with a B&W.

When any brand gets famous and big. the grey market sells it too.
When Sony Ericsson and Nokia cannot control the grey market, who are we?

Hi,

I am getting a new Swift Zxi in a few days and am looking into ICE for it.

What the dealer had-

Sony 460U (has USB support which I prefer to have) (quoted 8990, although found it online for around 6k at rediff)
Front Doors - JBL 607c (he quoted Rs. 6500)
Rear Doors - Alpine SPE 17c2 (quoted 3990)

Any good? How is the HU?

for 20K the 301.1 and GT4-12 in a box will do fine.

Stay away from Sony ICE products, they arent that great. speaking from my own experience, the only thing good about sony is they "may" have decent amps but definetly not so good HU and speakers.

For 9K you get a good Pio HU with USB support

That's with B&W. Most places I enquired only quoted grey at Rs9000. It looks like no one pays official B&W price for a Pioneer HU?
