It has the FTDI chip for the serial to USB conversion. Also some circuit to get the signalling voltage needed.

I dont have a normal car charger, didnt want to buy one for 300 each for samsung and nokia and hp. Also there is only one cigaratte lighter socket. i have faced occasion where all the five in car wanted to charge the phones in outings and i had only a hp car charger with me. now i can charge them all at a time if required.
badboyscad, it direct connection, no components and you get pure 5v to charge which is lesser than the car charger which gives 5.7v, so battery life of battery is better taken care of. be careful about the polarity

Dvd drive costs Rs2850.
Working on a obd circuit got from net, hope it works or atleast dont fry the ecu. will post if all are fine. diagram below, may not work with baleno as spadival must have tried all these, others may try as its cheaper to assemble.
Those blue leds in dashboard didnt work out. back to the bulbs, have put in red cello paper behind the dials though, not so great but has a orange kind of display. may be in next visit to lamington will buy white ultra led and use one each to get the milky white effect.

Hi Gigy,

For the first time today - I read through this thread and was really impressed. Could not help read from the first post to the last post. I am sure it must have been a dazzling experience to create your own carputer. After reading your post I have also thought of getting my own carputer as I have one of my old pc which I can use.

I will require lot of your help to create one. Can we please discuss this over a phone if you could pm me your mobile number.

Cheerrs - Thanks - Kailash
