To play the SUB. I have to choose 5.1 to Play the Sub correctly.
In 5.1 setup. Front Right , Front Left , Rear Right , Rear Left , Center , and Sub Plays.

What i understood is
Both Front Left and Rear Left will play one channel
Both Front Right and Rear Right will play the other channel of stereo music.
The center and sub woofer will play the mixed output.
Is this correct?

In this case i better not have a center speaker working when playing music. then do the T.A. correction.

no. this is not how it works. you will put one 3.5mm pin to
1st for front left and front rear.
2nd for rear left and rear right
3rd one for center and sub.

I understood how it is wired.
Wanted to know which of the speakers are playing music when a mp3 is being played.

Dose the music also play in both rear and in center/subwoofer?
Is the subwoofer/center getting both the stereo channels?

if you have selected 5.1 setup then all four speakers ( front L/R and rear L/R) and center and sub will play music. if you want to omit sound from center then you need to switch to 4.1 from the software option.

and i dint get what wht you tring to say "IS THE SUB/ CENTER GETTING BOTH THE STEREO CHANNELS"

I assume music is recorded in two channels in the mp3s, so the subwoofer and center must be getting a mixed signal?
then the center is spoiling the setup in car as they are close by to listener and the two channels.
days without car is frustrating, especially when it crashed before ICE tuning was to be done after a upgrade. had to remove the carputer, amplifier, gps etc before giving it for repairs

even if your mp3 is playbaks in 2channels your sound card (if its of better make) will make a good distribution to 5.1

As of now its 4.1 hardware and carputer set at 5.1. dont have option of 2.1 or 4.1 in the software. i have not yet reloaded the CF to see what it can do as car is in workshop. for going 5.1 hardware wise will have to install the sony222 and buy a center speaker as well. So before spending another 5k on center speaker and realizing it is spoiling the music staging i might very well run 2 channel only and let the amplifier distribute it to 4.1.

A quick rewind of my Hobby-

if you have hardware setup of 5.1 and you use center speaker then it will surly not spoil uor music.
but i must say if you have an option for 5.1 then go for it. and i think them amp will not be able to split 2 channel to 4.1, you will ehar sound from all the speaker but not a proper 4.1 system. so, i'd suggest let the amp do their work and let the splitting work done by the carputer.

for this you will need one 4 channel amp for both front channels and boith rear channles.
and one 2 channle amp for center
one mono for you subs.
this is how your 5.1 setup should be. but remember this is all my opinions. there may be many others options avalible as well.
and for the front end try using RR with DFX4 skin. its jsut awsome. << - - DigitalFX 4.0 [Released 07/25/08] - - >> - MP3Car.com

As of now four speakers and subwoofer is powered through one amplifier. i will have to install a two channel amplifier to power the center. let me see how it is after i get the car back.
