They are here Navin... Very much so. India and Europe carry the same products. In fact we ship from Europe. Only the USA has a few different products.

Wierd Problem

Ok So I went yesterday to a new guy after getting some references to get an aux cable out from my pioneer 5750. This was done is 20-25 mins, I listen to my HU sounds great, but the moment i start the engine there is whining sound coming from the speakers, switch of the engine no noise sound is great.
So in short:

I hear a whining or radio kind of noise when the engine is running but it goes away if the engine is off. Any clues

the installer said it is due to some loose amplifier cable, I said it was not there before, it was too late so he asked me to come later to get it fixed.

Just wanted to get an opinion as to what could be the real reason, though his reasoning sounds correct to me but I aint no expert so asking the experts. Please help

Technocrat,

the whining is alternator noise filtering through the cables. What RCA cables are you using.

The noise was not present before this change, could it be due to loose connection ?

soomoku subwoofers

Can someone out there tell me a little about soomoku subwoofers please.
I need something that sounds good without having to spend obscene amounts of money. I saw their ad in autocar this month.

Ideally, the amplifier power cable and RC cable should be on different sides of the car. If not, sometimes there could be intereference in the RC cable due to the magnetic feild around the power cable.
This maybe a possible reason for your problem. However, i am not absolutely certain. So please confirm this with someone else

I did search this thread, but did not find any useful first hand information.

I had been to pune sometime back. Had visited a health club called "fab gym". The audio system there was exceptionally good. The audio solution had been provided by Cadence (they make some amazing high-end speakers, largely for the international markets). The Cadence guys were using Dynamite brand active subwoofers made by Palesha Electronic industries (the same company that makes soomoku). The subs sounded really good.
However i havent heard their car subs. So if someone has, please let me know.

err didnt quite get you here.. The system was runing perfectly fine before that chap took out the cables from HU & it started giving noise just after he refitted it, also the noise comes only when engine is running(which I believe from Navin's comment is due to alternator)..

You mean to say the cable can go bad just like that
