Hello Ice Guru's , need some suggestions

Car - Swift vdi
Current set up - looking to get pioneer 7250 (previously had pioneer 6050 but got stolen)
JBL speakers in front doors
JBL gto 937 co-axials on rear
JBL bass tube in boot
JBL 4 channel amp (GTO 1004)

95% of the time only the front seats are occupied.

Music preferences - trance, hip-hop, house and bollywood tracks

I am planning to get a new head unit (pioneer 7250) and also upgrade the front speakers to component speakers.
As i not much into ICE i am confused which components to get. my budget for components are under 10k.
I am planning to run the components and woofer on amp and rear co-axials on head unit. is this is a good idea ??

do i need to damp the front door if i put components ??

How are JBL GTO 608c components ?? a dealer quoted me 5.5k for the same (MRP rs 7000)
is this discontinued now because i dont see the same on jbl indias website.

bhp,

damping the doors is probably the best VFM upgrade any ICE can have. I recently "convinced" a friend to damp his OEM ICE and even with a stock ICE there was a precetable difference. I was expecting a difference, what shokked me was HOW MUCH.

in my case damping only the front doors is enough or even the boot should be damped

bhp,
if you are installing a subwoofer in the boot you should damp it as well. I would damp the bonnet, the firewall, and rear doors as well.

Suggest a setup

Hi

I have been reading a lot about Linea setup without changing the Head Unit (HU).

I got 3 recommended suggestions, please help me decide the best without voiding warranty and without changing the stock head unit.

setup 1 - Auto marc

Front Speakers - Focal

Rear Speakers - Focal

Subwoofer - Focal/blaupunkt

Amplifier - Kenwood (Rs. 7k)

cables

dampner

Type: no PNP most probably RCA (no stock wire cutting)

-----------------------------
Setup 2 - Driven

spkr SL4 265 - Rainbow

Skr KX 165 - rainbow

Intermesh - Audison (or cheaper)

Dampner

amplifier Rockford fosgate R300-4

wires

TYPE: RCA
---------------------
setup 3 - Driven (not recommended by Automarc - as per him this amp trips)

Blaupunkt 555pnp

Harness kit

Rainbow speakers

Type: PnP

-------------------

Setup 3 is a good choice, since it has the least hassle in installation. And no, the THA555pnp does not trip by itself, unless one misuses it.

Automarc's offer is misleading. Not declaring model numbers and individual prices, one can't make out whether it is a good offer or not. For example, which model of Kenwood is he offering at 7K? Which Morel speakers - components or coax? How much damping? What is the total offer?

he quoted 29k with speakers from focal, kenwood amp, subwoofer with enclosure and wires. Dampening he told 4k more.

@DA what do u mean, misuse of setup 3? is it good for speakers and a subwoofer?

Item-wise, sirji! Sounds OK, but only if damping is included in the price.

Of course it is, nobody would buy it otherwise. Misuse is, for example, playing it at full volume like a PA system with doors open.

Guys i am now thinking of buying a decent sub to complete the sound package.
I got Rainbow Audio SLX 265 deluxe front comps along with a Kenwood 4ch amp
KAC m845.

Basically i am looking for a budget sub with enclosure(5-6K max.) which doesn't necessarily need to rock my car but should be able to provide deep and tight bass (even at moderate sound levels). I also need my boot from time to time so i am not looking for a very big one. Finally i would be bridging the 2 channels from the Ken amp to power it.

So what are my options? Would an 8' or 10' be good enough?

@AnkitPrashar
A t-bhp member from Delhi got a Bull Audio sub recently. See if you can get in touch with him for a quick audition (gt500). He is using the same amp M845 + a 1.2 cu ft box (I think) and he is really happy with the bass which is tight and quick.

Other options in this budget would be Blaupunkt GTw 1200 (1.25 cu ft box) or JBL GTO series subwoofer.

ankit, for around 5K, you can get the GTO 1214 sub. It's a decent sub, & I would have gone for it if only I had wanted to spend 5K on a sub. Try it out, if you cannot find it in gurgaon, contact supreme, they would help you out.

Also as sukhjot suggested, you can try out bull sub as well, which should be somewere close to 4.5K from driven.

the jbl sub is more powerful.

Also, which wiring kit are you using presently? Is it the Scosche e2 E400? Also what was the price of the kit?

Drive safe.
