Just called Maruti showroom here at Baramati and found no spares available for remote boot opener.
It will be great if any Pune bhpian post the availability of parts required for remote boot opener.

Did you pay for it? If not, don't remind them that. . . .

Sadly the parts above are not available anywhere in pune. not even the MASS and not even the SAI service authorised dealer of spare parts. i also searched the entire spare parts market in nanapeth and deccan area.
however i have asked sai service and one spare part dealer to order the parts. lets see when they arrive. they said it will take around 10-15 days to source.

the parts cost as follow at sai service:
1. Striker : 35Rs
2. Cable : 72 Rs
3. lever : 42 Rs

while browsing i found the alto part manual online.
the striker link is

Untitled Document

and the full part manual is

Index of /alto

the only problem is heading is in different language. you have to open each and every page and find the part you require.

So it seems that the last piece of the puzzle has fallen into place too:

82650M79G00 STRIKER BACK DOOR LATCH 1 DX

and the cost of this part is Rs. 35 only.

So, Total Cost comes to: Rs.(45+95+35) = Rs.175 + Labour.

So that is cheap!!

How do they put the cable through? How does it find it way to the exact place it needs to be and does not end up at the fuel lid instead ?

82650M79G00 82650M79G10 is the biggest confussion.

i have asked him to order both. he is not sure which belongs to the VXi. so i am ready to spend another 35rs. the parts are damn cheap but are very rare it seems in the market.
if i dont get the striker i will modify the existing one to accommodate the cable. may be by brazing a washer or some ring to it.the mechanism is very simple.

laying the cable is not at all the issue. its very simple. you can even do it yourself. you just have to open the trim for the same.

Hi Amit, where in pune are you ordering the part from? Maybe all of us in pune can jointly order the parts so that the dealer would be interested in the bulk deal. Then we can also negotiate with him, if not for cost, for the time taken to get the order shipped..

We can prepare a list of people who would be interested in getting it. What say?
