I have been checking the details of Sony Bravia KLV-40EX600 and power consumption is only 87 w in operation and this set has got PIP feature
(and many more). whereas other normal lcds consumes more than 150w (LG42LH70YR consume 200w?).
I too are looking for a similar lcd and have been waiting to see some good suggestions in this thread
Not true for all LED TVs. For LG, a 42" LCD TV consumes 180W while the LED TV consumes 150W. In Samsung it is approx 180 vs 130.

Also I don't think PIP makes any sense if you are using digital cable or DTH. PIP will work only with analog cable (without set top box). So no point spending money on PIP.

Try the Samsung C550. It can play HD movies and has home networking too. You wouldn't want the WD player. Price in BLR is 54K for 40".

The LA B550 is a highly acclaimed model from Samsung. This year it has been replaced with the C550 model that comes with HD movie playback and home networking.

++

Sony Bravia KLV 40EX600 specification says that the power consumption is 87W? If this is correct then good saving on electicity comparing other LCD tv's of similar size?

The RCA cables connecting the set-top box to the TV caught fire and the entire length burnt to ashes. Set-top box was on standby. The TV was still running, when we turned it off and put out the fire. Dunno who the culprit is, the set-top box, the new TV or any third party.

Cable guy did not turn up even after numerous calls, LG service guy is coming at afternoon. Has anybody faced anything similar before?

I just been in one of the TV dealer shop.
Have seen the Sony NX series and looks very pretty (with full glass screen - they call
as monolithic design?).
KLV-40NX500 company price is 68,900 (showroom price about 65,000/-).

After checking few sources, came to know that NX 500 is almost same model of EX400 series with minor improved features. And general recommendation is that EX400 series is better than NX500 series?

Any opinion please?

Dilemma . Urgent advice needed ASAP.

Hi all ,
Went to the local shops to see some tv's . Saw a few lcd , plasma and led . So basically i want to fix the tv in the lobby area which is around 27 ft long . I found this Samsung 40" lcd t.v good but then saw the 2010 LG Plasma range which has better contrast ratio and the size is 50 inches . Samsung 40 inch lcd was quoted at 56k and LG 2010 Plasma 50" one was for 57.6k . Both have HDMI and Usb port connectivity . I found the quality and colours
of the plasma quite good also . Please tell me which one should i go for . Advantages and disadvantages if any .
Thanks .

Spend a little more and get the Samsung C550, which costs Rs. 70 k without bargaining. The LG PK550R is a good tv but plagued with a lot of issues. LG is poor when it comes to CS and TV's.

Thanks frank . Read about the C550 .Although i haven't seen it . The review says that its good and kind of better than the LG one . But the LG PK550 wasn't bad either . What i want to ask is that is that,is it worth spending an extra 13k for the C550 and also if the plasma is a good choice ? I shall check the C550 in person soon .
Thanks .

Saw C550 in croma yesterday and was for 66k so with negotiation might had come down.
IMO it lookedreally good if someone wants a 50 inch screen.
