Sorry, cant edit the above post. How does one check the total hours used? i suspect that i might have got a showroom pece. I did not get the welcome screen when we first switched on the TV, and the picture settings were already messed up.

the key combination is

info > menu > mute > power when the tv is in standby mode. This should be helpful for all samsungusers.

my 1 day olsdTV is showing 64 hours used :( is that normal?

Buy the latest C model , Lots of improvements from last year right from Contrast ration to panel to the firmwhare which supports decoding of many movie formats from USB stick.

Earlier B550 was supporting JPG and MP3 only but now it also supports all movie formats from USB but JPG decoding is moved to series 6 ( cheap tactic to lure to series 6 ) IMHO

Purchased the LA40C650 from a small shop in Koramangala. It took them one day to deliver the model, as its a newly launched one.

I was all set to get the LA40B650 from Hypercity in Marathahalli. The shop manager always told me there was 1 or 2 fresh pieces of B650. And i was all set to pay using my credit card. Luckily , i asked him to show me the fresh piece he had . And he went off to look for it, I noted down the serial number of the display piece of the B650 he had in the shop during that time. And he comes back and tells me that he only has a display piece and he can give it to me for 50k , and his store guy made a mistake in communication . I gave him something to digest on hearing this crap, as he had done enough damage to me by wasting probably 2-3 hours. I strongly feel he would have sent me the display piece all neatly packed the next day, if i had not asked him to produce the set before i paid.

So , please pay only after you see the set and note down the serial number as well.

So i am all set now to watch the World Cup . Any suggestions for a good DTH provider , i want to move to one soon , confused between Airtel, TATA Sky & Sun DTH.

I have seen ads on newspapers for HD packages - both DishTV and Tata Sky have launched Full HD DTS service for the world cup (few channels like Discovery and sports). You need a different STB (more expensive) and the HD channel bouquet is to be purchased separately.

DTH India - 2 Month Subscription Free Offer

DishTV India - First DTH TV, Satellite TV, Digital Picture and DTH Services in India

Dish site has it on the homepage as "coming soon" but I remember seeing an ad or plug in the newspaper today.

This weekend ezone has a zero margin offer where they are offering a LG LED TV (42SL90QR), an Onkyo HT (HTS-3100) and a Philips blueray player (BDP3000) for 89990/-. This seems to be a good offer as the lowest price for the LED TV I could find in the net was about 68k!

I bought a 22 '' BX300 Sony for 15.3 k last week. Works well and looks the best amongst all 22''.

I need another one BUT when I saw the price of Panasonic 32 C8 32'' for about 22 - 23k I thought why not spend the little bit extra and get a size bigger ?

I do not care about HDMI & PC out or in. All I want is to connect TATA SKY and watch DVD's.

Any reviews on C8 ? Should I or Should I not ?

32" is optimal if you don't want HD input.

Panny plasmas are great. I have not seen anyone with LCDs.

Go for the LA40C650. the 2010 panel has less power consumption, better MKV playback support.

Folks,

Any idea what will be the price of the Samsung UA32C6900VR, and when will it be available? The Samsung C series is newer and better than the B series (like the UA32B6000VR), right?

The Samsung 32" LED with 3D is being priced at 53K, is it worth buying it over 32" Panasonic 32" Vierra priced 36k. Not sure about the models

Cheers,
Rajesh
