For other countries the flyover might not work or come about slowly with govt. regulations etc.
The earlier Maps apps on iOS was developed by Apple and not Google. They were simply using Google Maps like they are using TomTom + others right now.

It was a collaboration but Android was getting all the features, why not the iOS? It is said that Google is coming up with the Maps app soon.

I will also wait for iPhone 5 to come to India, so the 4S will come down a bit too. Too much dilemma!
If you can wait more 3 to 4months the lumia 900 price will come down drastically. Meanwhile im looking to upgrade my lumia 800 to the 900 once the pricing is favorable even though im getting a good resale for the the 800.

Id also suggest you go for the 4s itself with iOS6. Apple ecosystem is such a harmonious place to take shelter in. Windows phones are fast and zippy but the Zune software sucks. Till now whatever phone management softwares Ive seen, iTunes rocks. And with iCloud everything is so seamless.

Mind you i do have an android and a symbian phone too and im not a fanboy per se, but iPhone with iCloud and iTunes make for a hassle free experience everyday. Plus the plethora of covers and customization you can do to your iPhone beats everything else.

I really wish Apple India brings down the prices of the iPhone 4 also instead of discontinuing it. If it retails at 25 to 30k inr range, it will be an offer many won't be able to refuse.

Cheers.

Heard the 1st few novelty pieces are selling at as high as 75k/-. That's almost double the prices. Apple sure has some die hard fans!

I am waiting for the Indian launch eagerly. Heard India is in the third wave, buying an apple without warranty doesn't make sense so not going it now. Its coming between 25th October to 5th November, anyone heard the same?

Till the time iPhone 5 is officially launched in India, it will sell for over 1000$ in grey market.
iPhone 4 was selling for around 50-60k in grey market in delhi before the india launch.

As far as the official prices are concerned i expect it in the range of 43-47k max. They will lower the price of 4S around launch.

iPhone 4 (8GB) is currently available for around 29k at some stores in Delhi. With Bill.

Got myself an iphone5. One of those impulse decisions. Love the move from 3G/ BB to the slick hardware- software combo. Fits perfectly in the hand too. Only fly in the ointment is maps. Practically useless in Toronto. Ear pods do sound better and do not hurt as much, though not as good as a few others out there.

You can attach documents to Emails from phone. I had TBHP PDI checklist PDF on my Bookstand. When I opened that, under the options one was 'Email'. You can also send a Note by Email or SMS.

Sorry if this has been shared already.

Edit: I think the speed has improved significantly. A 23 MB app was downloaded in less than 2 mins.

Price? It's carrier locked and comes with a 3 yr contract. So 64GB version was ~480 Canadian $ which included the 100$ apple care. Have an option to get it unlocked by Apple anytime after 3 months. Can cancel the contract too. Only will have to pay the remaining of the subsidized amount minus whatever months I was on the contract. And the plan I have is the same I had before the iPhone.

Unlocked version is 899 CAD + 13% tax. Though Apple is not selling unlocked versions thru Stores now (many left the early morning lineup after hearing this). They will start selling 'em only after the online preorder deliveries are in full swing. Reason- to curb the rampant black market.

As usual the activation servers were down for all the carriers here in Canada. I got a nice amount in my account as a compensation for the "trouble "
