Installed it. Said its Beta?? Works fine so far, no offline/download function? That would have been super cool.

Yes the offline mode is missing and also adding in between destinations is also not available. Once these two features are provided we don't need any other navigation application

re: The iPhone Thread

Guys, I'm considering an iPhone 4 8gb. Don't want to spend more than 26k on a phone so 4s is out. I'm using a blackberry curve at the moment. So it'll be a huge leap in any case. What are your views and opinions? Should I or should'nt I?

If you want to move to the iPhone world, I would suggest atleast to look for the 4s. IMHO, its not worth to pay 26K for something which is 2 gen old.

iPhone 4 won't be really a leap for you. To have a better experience you will at least need a 4S. Most of the useful apps will be obsolete (or soon be so) due to the h/w & s/w constraints.

Again, my personal opinion is that Curve is far better if you need a smartphone only for emails/ texts, fb etc. Its only once you need browsing + apps (missing in BB world for Curve) that iPhone or something similar would be useful.

I have a BB Curve and I still miss in iPhone the ease with which I could type on a Curve.

BB10 is launching soon. You might also want to wait for that before taking the plunge. Can't share details, but insider info is that its good.

re: The iPhone Thread

8GB iPhone 4 will make you think of an upgrade soon. 16GB should be the least storage if you are going to really use the phone as a smart one.

4S is definitely better than 4 for the premium that it commands.

re: The iPhone Thread

Not really worth spending 26 on 4, why not a used 4S? Should be available at the same price. 4 Already has few of the features cut off with iOS 6 and this will just keep on increasing, that apple's way of enticing you for upgrades.

Yes I think I saw them @ the apple store here and also in their service centre , so you can check with your dealer.

Yeah.. Much much relieved with using the google maps in iPhone !!!
Else i was relying on waze which is of course better in social aspects. But this google one has been always the one i am after. After using it from yesterday evening, i am so far good, for its quick for loading as well as search, voice guidance is cherry on top. Via point is next awaited. Rerouting seemed having delay, as seen just on couple of scenarios

26K would have been an ideal price for the 16GB iPhone 4 even though it is 2 versions older now. 8GB storage might be tight if you download too many apps/games or have too many mp3/music files. The OS alone would take up 2GB space. The 4S 16GB might be a better option - but only due to the higher storage aspect. Functionality wise, I don't see too much difference between 4 and 4S. Dual core CPU and Siri being the exceptions. Coming from a BB curve, even the 3GS will feel like a quantum leap.

Why go for ear pods? There are better options available by other manufacturers. My recommendation is s4i http://www.klipsch.com/image-s4i-black-in-ear-headset.

You won't go back to any other headphones if not the audiophile variety.

Cheers!
