Contrary to earlier reports, it is said that Apple may approve Google Maps after alll. This augurs well for customers.

Google Maps, whenever it comes to iOS, will come with turn-by-turn navigation - http://www.imore.com/native-google-m...ore-submission

It is expected that Google will include turn-by-turn navigation built right into the app, compared to when Apple was using Google Maps and Google reportedly refused to provide it unless Apple included Google's Latitude service as well.
The likes of Sygic will become obsolete.

Nope, they won't become obsolete.
Offline Navigation is still more reliable than online. You never know Internet Connectivity in India!

I am planning to buy an iPad 3 16GB LTE model from US But I want to know which model of iPad will support Indian LTE Frequency Bands in future.
http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/
Model A1429 might be working in India, but there's no Indian Specific Model. As of now, Airtel LTE is using Band 40 2300 MHz

HKG works best. But getting it is nothing short of climbing a mountain. You cannot yet buy it off the shelf. Need to pre book it using an HK ID.

This would cease post iphone 5 official launch in China in December.

Do not understand what's the logic with Apple or its carrier here, there isn't a good post paid deal for Indians. It's a well known fact that each iPhone has a lot of value added sales via apps and the lock-in with plan can reap real benefits for all involved. Hope someone wakes up and take leadership in Indian mobile scene.

Yes, agree. I occasionally use Sygic on my jailbroken iPhone 4, which is taken out only when I have to travel to an unknown place. In my case, it is necessitated because of maps goof-up by Apple.

Nice app, very precise. A bit off in UI department but maps work

Citymaps2go app is great offline map service if you travel to another country.

Yes, in HK iPhone comes unlocked. But I don't know about the sim cutting part. Maybe good to check with some local stores.
