Wouldn't you want to wait for three more days and get the commercial version on Sept 13th?
This is final version, released earlier for Beta testers.

the download is painfully slow on a 50Mbps connection. Maybe the Apple servers are swamped
Must be something to do with your internet. Downloaded in morning on Jio - took less than a hour, its around 1,6 Gb

Also upgraded MacPro with Sierra, around 4,5 Gb took around 3 hours on Jio

Haha again ridiculous pricing. But then again this is for the initial craze when they will mint money from the early birds. Prices will go down in 3-4 months

US pricing starts from $649=43483 INR( taking 67 as conversion rate). So the difference is 17k+, which becomes almost 20k when going for the 128gb version which is going to be my preference. I still hope they had a 64gb version.

Maybe the taxes make them so expensive. It's better to buy from US then(although for iPhones they offer no international warranty).

I'll be waiting for the new Nexuses to launch on October 4th and then by January will decide between the iphone7 or the new HTC made Nexus(Pixel or Pixel XL).

Re: The iPhone Thread

I got my 6 updated to iOS 10 last night; in fact, I checked for updates at 2231

Since the 6 doesn't have force touch, I'm not sure how much of a "true" update I'm missing out on.

Since I got iOS10, I had a bunch of app updates lined up that mentioned Siri integration, WhatsApp for eg.

Initial impression:

- The iMessage UI seems more interactive
- I haven't tried the Siri integration with other apps; will start exploring now
- The lock sound is awful; the earlier one, though awful old, was better
- I'm not sure if this can be changed but when I want to unlock the screen and I press the Home key or the Unlock/Lock button, I get the Lock Screen and it directs me to press the Home key again so that I can enter my passcode. Slightly irritating; perhaps sliding to unlock was easier
- Thank the good lord they have put in a feature to clear all notifications all at once; from the Notification Center

Also, I just noticed that the option to disable the Erase Data option (erase all data on the iPhone after 8 failed passcode attempts) is greyed out since I have my company email set up. This isn't cool.

If your employer uses an MDM to provision phones for access to corporate email, they can set their own policies. Such as allowing remote wipe only from the MDM interface or through an office IT admin.

Love everything with the iOS 10 except for that grey theme and background colour. The phone has become even more fluidic and snappy. The app closing animation looks cool.
I, for one, love the new lock sound & keypad sounds.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Our MDM is a joke, you can register any device and access office email on another and it works.. crazy but true.

Annoying Indeed!
I used to press power button and simply place my thumb over home button for unlocking to home screen on my 6s until iOS 10. This was done to prolong the life of, otherwise abused home button. Now I'm forced to press it for unlocking!

this can be changed in the Accessibility options:

Settings > General > Accessibility > Home Button > Rest Finger to Open

Savior! Works perfectly fine and it's super duper now - Raise to wake and Rest finger to Open. No need of pressing any buttons. Thank you.

Re: The iPhone Thread

I just wasted 1 GB of of my friend's data in downloading iOS 10 (1 GB) in my phone. after download was complete, it mentioned that there is no space for installing iOS 10 and that i need to free memory and re-download again. My friend is now not allowing to use his data again. I have atleast 3 GB of data available (but can't use for downloading - "you need WIFI for iOS download")

Is the dump (downloaded OS) still there in my phone or download again? Can't seem to find the dump any where in the phone.

PS: using iPhone 5S with 9.3.5 iOS

Why don't you try doing download option and see where it is starting? If it starts from 0% download means no dumb. You can always cancel the download if you want to wait for another connection options.

You don't need to download the OS update again. Just free up some space and again go to Settings - General - Software update and you will see the option to install the downloaded update.
