Re: The iPhone Thread

Not sure if this is an iPhone thing or something triggered by my company's device management profile but I got a pop-up asking me to change my passcode. Wait, there's more. I could only use a 6-character code, no option of using a 4-character code.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Post iOS 10 update(s), can any 6 Plus owner confirm that he/she is experiencing random Wi-Fi signal loss?

I keep losing Wi-Fi, even when my phone is placed very near to the router most of the time I am home.

Either it randomly comes back on (with all WhatsApp/Telegram/Facebook alerts hitting my phone one after the other in a cascading effect), or I have to switch off/switch on the Wi-Fi button in Settings.

Software update problem, or I am experiencing a hardware problem related to Wi-Fi?

I had this issue when iOS 9 was out; went away with 9.1, which I remember was issued within a month of 9. A cousin who bought the 6 Plus had the same issue post 9, but was rectified after 9.1.

No issues post iOS 10 on my 6 though. The battery hasn't been holding up as much as before but I'm not going to judge it so soon since I've been updating a bunch of apps that came up since iOS 10.

Re: The iPhone Thread

I updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 10 2 days ago. There is no lag in performance. Overall it feels nice. I got 10 hours of usage on full charge. Only a couple of things I didn't like:

1. Emojis. I did not like the redesigned ones at all. Old ones were far far better. Some of them are downright comical, the gun for example. It looks like a pichkari which children play with in Holi.
2. Notifications UI is not optimal. They are too large.

Interestingly, this is the first time I am experiencing it. No such problem when my phone was going through the 9.x upgrades.

Battery backup is fine on my 6 Plus. I think it's lasting a wee bit more than the last 9.x upgrade.

Been noticing this Wi-Fi "drop" since the past 3-4 days. Let's hope it's not a permanent problem and gets fixed soon.

Re: The iPhone Thread

I was planning to upgrade my 5s to iOS 10 today. When I connected to iTunes, I see that 10.0.1 is already out. I am upgrading directly to the first update post the major release. Will post my experience if I see any major issue.

The first iteration of iOS10 is 10.0.1.

I thought it would be 10.0.0.

It is entirely possible that your company IT admin enforced an MDM policy.

I have 10.0.1 working on my spare 5s with a 4 character PIN - while my 6 enforces 6 characters due to my corporate mail getting configured on it.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Now that you mention it, my 6S has been acting the same way. Did not notice it the whole of last week since I was extremely busy. I'm equally worried now. Let me know if you come up with a solution.

Re: The iPhone Thread

After update to iOS 10, the iPhones and iPads are refusing to get charged with one of the OEM cables. Not sure what the issue is, as it used to charge before this update. Now all I get is "Not Charging" message on top.

Anyone else facing this issue?

Even I am not liking the new notification center. I feel the font is too big in size and too thick. I was so comfortable with the earlier one.

Battery life and performance seem similar so nothing to worry about. I will monitor the battery performance in the next few days.

Re: The iPhone Thread

My battery drained in 3 hrs flat after the update. What I noticed that Photos were getting backed up to icloud, causing all the drain. Check in battery usage, what is causing your battery drain and act accordingly. after turning off icloud backup for photos, battery is back to normal on my 6S.
No wi-fi signal issues for me.

The gun emoji is intentional.

I upgraded my iPhone 6S to iOS 10, the phone has slowed down and takes longer time for everything. Anyone has seen this with their 6S please?
