There's no official time but I'd expect it to start at any time after 12 midnight PDT on 18 Sept i.e. 12:30 pm India on 19/9.
.
As of now, the sources indicate that the roll out begins at 22.30 IST.

Re: The iPhone Thread

IMO it is a good idea to wait for a few days before updating to the latest iOS release. I always wait for a .1 version to be available or for people to report that the update is working w/o issues.

In recent past, most new iOS releases have had major bugs that affected those who updated on day 1.

Now if anyone does update, please share your experiences here

Yesterday I updated to IOS 11 on my 5s. I am still exploring it however the first experience has been good. I got back almost 2GB in space! The menu system is different and the App Store is totally revamped. More updates as I explore it.

I agree. Ive been running iOS 11 since beta releases, and have been running the Release Candidate since a week. It runs pretty well, but there are a couple of niggles. A restart once in 2-3 days is needed.
But, if you are short on storage space: update asap. The new file system gives you back a lot of space.

It's probably beta. I too haven't got the update. Between I absolutely used to love the dots for signal level on iOS. Going to be missing it for sure.

Re: The iPhone Thread

Anybody noticed the signal bars have now been reduced from 5 to 4 in iOS 11? Wonder what made the bright sparks at Apple do this.

I would have preferred the earlier dots instead of the new signal bars. Not so impressed with the design changes as usual Now there is unnecessary use of Bold text and waste of space for this. There is no way to reduce it either. For example, title in apps like messages occupy so much of space, I wonder how it would be in the smaller screen phones of the SE and 5s. God knows why they want to screw up things which are neat and clean in the name of an update.

Agree, I prefer the old signal indicators, and certainly prefer 5 bars/dots instead of 4. Well, the OS is shiny new but some of the cosmetic shine will wear off soon. The good thing is the OS seems snappy, for now that is.

I assume there is no way one can revert to iOS 10. I'd have liked that as an option.

Perhaps, some research by the costliest UX designers in the world.

I have issues in some apps (Instagram and WhatsApp): some buttons on the screens just don't respond once a while while others do.

I guess most of these apps will roll out a 11 compatibility patch, if they haven't already.

You can for a couple of days, till apple is still signing ios 10.3.3.

But the above could only be for beta OS11 users. Not sure if the OTA updated ios11 can go back.

I updated my iPad mini 2 with iOS 11 and it has become terribly slow. iPhone SE going strong. 👍
