I guess we will have a jailbreak and unlock for iphone 2G version 2.0.1 by tomorrow. And this time with installer. I am gonna update it as soon as the unlock is available.

This 2.0 is sick. The keyboard lag is sometimes aweful, sometimes phone take over 3-5 seconds to respond to a touch.

Reports say that 2.0.1 is way more stable and crisp

I hope my hacked applications wud work

@ Raja, yup its possible to buy an unlocked version of iphone which will work on any network, but does not mean that hacked or non apple apps will work, ie those that are not sold through itunes.

Iphone 3G India Pricing

How Apple wants to reach masses in India ? Overprice the phone as usual coordinating with Airtel/Vodafone.

Pricing is out.

8GB iphone is going to be Rs.31000, 16GB will be around 36000.

Hmm so either you can buy an Iphone, or you can buy other phones with more features for 14000 and no lock in period. Tough choice right?
After the initial hoopla its going to be a flop because its cheaper to get a unlocked iphone.

Still cheaper than buying it here in Dubai, Dhs.4,000 (Rs.48k) for 8GB and Dhs.5,500 (Rs.65k) for 16GB are the going rates here.

Needless to say, very few are actually buying.

Hi guys looks like the pricing is finally out. the 8gb is going to be around 31k and the 16gb is around 36-37k without a plan, plus you have to choose from a number of plans. looks steep, am going ahead with either the e71 or the diamond, these numbers dont work for me.

If thats the pricing its sad! Apple will be loosing out on Indian market. 16Gb for 25k should be a good price point.

Cant agree more, went and had a look at the diamond after reading a lot of reviews over the last month. the phone feels pretty solid and with the new firmware is pretty snappy. so will go with that. price has dropped to around 26k now.

@ jassi, since we dont have 3g yet, battery should last longer, and I have been using the n95 for more than a year now and it works for me, guess that will be ok.
