Re: The Windows Phone Thread

Checked Lumia Help + Tips to extend the warranty of my Lumia 730. Sadly, the option wasn't there. Called up the care centre and they said that the extended warranty program has been withdrawn. Is it true? :(

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

Guys,

I wanted a spare phone and got the Lumia 630. I have a weird problem, hope someone can help me with this. When i open whatsapp the application doesn't load but keeps going back to the mainscreen.

Got the issue after entering the verification code. I am using the same number that i used on IOS. Any resolution for this issue ?

I use Gmail to transfer contacts information between the phone and the PC. Use "Synchronize" feature of Window Phone to synch the contacts. Then use synch to restore the contacts to Android.

For Photos Windows only transfers to "Zune", so use Zune to store the images and videos in PC.

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

I have been using the Nokia Lumia 510 for the past 3 years now. I am not saying that this is the best phone here, but with just 256 mb of ram and 2.8 gb of storage memory, I have been satisfied. Its a slow phone, yes, but it still is only as slow as the day I bought it.

I did something similar to this recently : Whenever we do a backup, our contacts are also backed up to our Microsoft account. So if you login to outlook.com using your microsoft account, you should be able to see your contacts listed there.
Export them to a .CSV and then import them into your android mobile. Hope this helps.

Project Astoria is a project from Microsoft to put Android apps on Windows Phones. It got leaked a few days ago.

You don't need to do anything special on the phone other than to enable developer mode. Then you can install apks using adb install apkname

Detailed instructions here:

Astoria is a huge boon for us WP users. Kudos to MS for making the process so, so simple.

The developer options on my WP10 TP isn't opening. It needs a hard reset.

I am waiting for build 10512 to be released and installed. Post which I will try these Android apps as well.

If developers still don't port their apps to WP, I do not see any rationale behind it.

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

Build 10512 is due very, very soon.

In preparation for the same, I have backed up the phone as I do a hard reset once I get the latest build.

Hope it fixes the freeze after call bug and the loading screen bug.

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

I'm having a problem with my 640 XL. My facebook app and WhatsApp are not refreshing. Facebook is showing a page more than a week old and WhatsApp is not receiving messages. I don't have mobile coverage (in the middle of the sea) by have Wifi. WhatsApp and Facebook are working fine on my Android.

Also how do you take a screenshot on a Windows Phone?
