I got this one. It is a silicone flexible cover that covers just the back, with the openings for camera, headset and charger. Not from ebay though, from a local shop. ebay is way cheaper.

But, it kindof ruins the look of the phone.. I actually wanted a simple slide-in pouch with inner microfiber lining, but could not find in any shops.

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

Finally there was 7.8 update pushed to Lumia 710 and updated it just now to my dad's 710.

Though 7.8 update was released long back, they held the update for Lumia 710 some reason after few days.

Strange, my wife's old Lumia 710 got the update a month back.

I got the update way back in January. A little while after the 510 was launched.

Leaving that apart, my mom got herself a new lumia 720. The phone is just wonderful. Good camera and also it is a VFM product. Only downside is that the cover cannot be changed. We wanted black but it was just not available anywhere. So settled with white. Guess we have to manage with a skin of some sort

The cover is changeable and is available in Nokia accessories store (as told by the Univercel sales person). IMO 720 looks best in black. In other colors, the black buttons hang out from the sides.

BTW, is there any Windows 8 phone which has FM radio?

Not yet, coming soon. Supposedly all Lumias have FM radio hardware built in. But for some WP8 doesn't support it when WP7/7.8 did. It is reportedly coming with Windows 8.1.

I am sick of these silicon cases. The day we buy, it would be in white or grey, when days pass on, it would change to yellow. Looks very odd.
Will hunt for some hardshell or pouch.

gMaps is an alternative. It has a Latitude layer. But if you have enabled 2-step authentication for your google account (http://www.google.com/landing/2step/), the sign-in from the app may not work. I never got to work Latitude on my L720. The sign-in is routed through some server in US and google is blocking the attempt.

Apparently all Lumias except 620 has the hardware capability and will get the FM radio feature in the next OS update during July.

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

After a hunt for a case, settled for ROCK.

Unfortunately the same item was out of stock at Flipkart. Since I have heard good stories for Rock cases, took the plunge and placed my order now.

Even the 620 has FM radio capability. The reason that it may not get FM radio is described at the link below.

Re: The Windows Phone Thread

:@
So I (+ a friend) did manage to find some really irritating quirks about the windows phone:
1. you cannot edit the number which called you, or you made a call to to dial back
2. if you use whatsapp you cannot save unknown number into a known contact, neither can you copy paste the phone number. You can only create a new contact (!)
(3). this appears to be problem with me: I am unable to use the find my phone feature.

All in all, perhaps the best integration of different accounts, profiles etc for social networking purpose, but the basic phone features is pretty surprisingly lacking (read the points 1 above).

God knows what all I will unearth slowly ...

Oh, and it is confirmed, the HERE Maps/Drive is pretty pathetic in terms of places marked compared to Google maps.
