You have an option of carrying this 2200mAh portable charger which is available @ around Rs.1300/-.

Nopes. My query was on availability of (only) batteries in the market. I remember seeing (& buying) original/fake batteries for the older generation of Nokia phones in the past. Wondering if there is an available market for the smartphone batteries.

It was a Sunday, so the phone was minimally used ( 1.5 hrs screen on + 40 mins Call + 2g Data ON all day, 2 Gmails Accounts Sync ON, Whatsapp)

Battery after about 23 hrs is 45%. Dont know if its good or bad, will be able to update by next week.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Thank you all for valuable suggestions. I was indeed thinking of getting 'some kind' of phones on rediff or flipkart. But after your responses I guess I can get a good phone. Yes I can increase my budget as well.

BTW, I came across an ad of a 3 month used Samsung Galaxy S Duos for 8k and a 6 month used Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos for 12.5k with bill, box and all that. Are the prices fair enough guys? Anybody already using these phones could share comments on these?

Contrary to popular belief, the screen is awesome.
The phone is quick and they're releasing stock android for it in some time.

And the battery Is really good.
Thanks Sprucegoose. I would be getting my Xperia Z by Thursday. This would be my first Android phone (currently using Samsung Omnia Pro that runs on Windows 6.1) thus desperately looking forward for upcoming Thursday..

What would the same situation be with 3G on all the time? That would be interesting to know. If that can hold for 20+ hours then great. Then add periodic toggling of data it can be pushed beyond 30 hours easily.

You could consider the ZR also.
Its cheaper and has a lower res screen, so effectively it will have a slightly better battery life and less strain on the soc.

Periodic manual toggling is not required.

Sony has added this stamina mode feature. Whenever your phone is in standby mode (screen off), data access for apps stops.

You can obviously add exceptions like I did for whatsapp and gmail.

Good to know this! Recently I started using tasker and now I use it inside out for all such things! Very satisfied. But surely ZR is on my radar as the next change!

Neither is worth the price. The S Duos most definitely not. You can buy a new one for less than that! I still would not recommend it. Its a mediocre choice, even at the current price.

Thank you Raccoon. May of my colleages shared the same opinion. I politely refused to buy the device.
