Motorola is all set to launch its first smartphone after being acquired by Lenovo. The company has already sent out invites to international media about an upcoming event to be held on May 13.

Unlike the high-end flagships that have been entering the markets lately, it appears to be just another Moto device that aims at superior features with an affordable price tag. The invite reads, “Connect more people to the world’s information and each other, and they can do great things.” The invite also mentions, “Made to last. Price for all.”

Go ahead install the app and request for the code from within it.

I took that route yesterday and got the code within couple of hours.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I have a AT&T branded HTC One Mini and a MacBook Pro. For some reason, I have been unable to transfer files via Bluetooth from the phone to the laptop.

The laptop detects the phone and even connects to it. But when I initiate a file transfer, it suddenly disconnects.

How do I go about it?

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Any suggestion for Android phone for budget of max 16k to gift to my wifey.

Moto G 16GB is there, however, it has no external sd card slot. Might have to go with Moto G if no other phone come close to it in specs.

Yes, budget phone going to be announced for now. The flagship stuff comes later in the year.
So far, there is nothing from Lenevo in all of this. That happens after the deal is concluded.

So, I am expecting a Moto G successor of some sorts to be announced on 13th. This would be probably followed by the Moto 360 release and then the successor for the Moto X.

But, that is just me thinking aloud.
Moto guys are tight-lipped about their plans.

How about the Lenovo P780? It has the largest battery of all mobile phones, which easily last 2-3 days at least. It has decent specs for the price IMO:
1) 1.2 GHz Quad core
2) Expandable memory
3) 5 inch screen
4) 8 MP camera

My friend's sister has been using this phone for last 6 months without any issues.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

To exchange the dreadfully painful Samsung Galaxy Y Duos within a reasonable budget of Rs. 10K, I considered the below options:

1) Xolo A500 S IPS(Rs. 7K)
2) Lenovo A 369i(Rs. 5.5 K)
3) Sony Xperia E (Rs. 8.8 K)
4) Nokia Lumia 525 (Rs. 10.3K)

However, after checking out the new Lenovo A526, I was easily convinced that this is the best phone to suit my needs and budget.

For my purchase considerations, I was sure that I will not consider Micromax, Karbonn and Samsung(again).

Now, back to the Lenovo A526.

It is a beautiful Android with the below specifications

1) Android 4.2.2( Jelly Bean)
2) Screen Size-4.5 inches
3) PPI-221 (480X854 Pixels)
4) Quad Core Processor, 1.3 GHz
5) 1 GB RAM
6) Dual Sim Standby Mode.(Regular Sim)
7) Supports OTA.
8) Bluetooth 4.0
9) Comes pre loaded with Lenovo DOit app suite
10) 5 MP Camera without flash
11) 1080p Video recording
12) Battery 2000 mAH
13) 4 GB internal memory and extendable to 32 GB.
14)Inbuilt proximity sensor, accelerometer and light sensors.

The mobile MRP is Rs. 10,499/-. Under exchange with my 6 month old Samsung Y Plus and dealer discounts, I got a sweet deal at Rs. 6.8K.

-The sound is clear and the phone processing is superlative.
-The screen size is apt and colour reproduction is crisp rendering the video watching experience pleasurable.

It has been a rewarding experience with the Lenovo A 526 till date.

From phonearena - the Moto E is the the one ready for launch. By the shipping price of the product (Rs. 6330), I guess it could retail at around Rs 8500.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

@Ajay, I am typing this from the Lenovo P780, excellent phone.
I got it for the battery and the rest of the specs are a welcome bonus, the only downside is the internal storage space. Ensure you buy the 8GB internal memory variant as the 4GB variant I have is no good at all.
My heavy usage after installing candy crush has caused my phone to last a little under 24 hours, and I would recommend it for the battery alone.

Also look at Lenovo Vibe and Lenovo X, both have batteries thst would last a day at least and weigh lighter than the P780.
