Don't give the "Its a chinese phone" argument. I have 2 friends who have got these phones, and no issues at all.
Yaar i agree. said the same thing about the micromax ones a few pages back

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Phamilyman,

I see that the Karbon has a 1Ghz processor? So, in actual use how would it compare to say a Samsung with a 1Ghz processor?

Very impressive specs for under 10K, but how is the phone in actual use?

Its most likely the old MSM7227/5 core in a 1Ghz avatar. The same one that powered LG P500 and gadzillions of budget phones with the same crap Adreno 200 chipset. It will be decent/kaam chalau. But nowhere as good as the snapdragon or the dual core 1Ghz. its not just about the core frequency IMHO. look up the benchmarks

Phamilyman, i read in this review that the ICS in Tipo is buggy.

EDIT: Just read the comments in that review page, and they seem to contradict the review.

Guys any good app/apps to track the status of our trains?
That would be quite helpful.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Charging has become a nightmare after switching to JB. Very often the Defy refuses to charge unless it is fully discharged. It used to be a rare problem, now I face it every alternate days.

So, charge your phone only on alternate days, and it will be fine!

Its a 3.7" screen man - you dont need samsung style thick bezels for midsize phones!
I'm sure that, if we put Sygic and Google side by side, then, apart from the off-line maps/navigation that leaves Sygic the clear winner, there will be different things that they do best.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Need an android at about 16k max. The only requirement is to have a good screen (like Dell's XCD35) and a phone that keeps me entertained.

Camera is the least of priority.

I had a 20k budget and spent about a month researching for the phone. Finally, the war was between Micromax A90 and One V.

In the end One V won, I have this phone from last 4 days and I am very happy with my decision.

Cheers,
Sameer

Ain't that simple, now it charges only when the phone is off.

It is the Aug28 nightly. But guess what, I don't like the CM10 interface, it looks very cut and dry compared to CM7. I am all set to return to CM7.2 unless you can give me a good reason why I shouldn't.

Even i'm facing a couple of weird issues with CM10 of Aug 28. The battery is draining as if phone is having loose motions! Hardly 12 hours and it's down to 15%. I'm on 3g and occasional WiFi or gps, but this is surprising.

Also, if I set SwiftKey or Swype as my default input method and reboot the phone, it reverts to stock AOSP keyboard. Why is that?

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Is there a reason why one would buy anything but the Moto Defy Plus with a budget strictly of 16k?

Just checked out the video on this page http://tech2.in.com/reviews/smartpho...-review/265262 and i'm totally sold...I just need a few yes's to second my decision now!

I too faced crazy battery draining issues on CM10. Also my phone would never charge 100%. I am using CM9 for almost 2 weeks now. At least it gets through well for 1 full day and charges itself to full 100%.

Oh darn. that is simply not acceptable. Why dont you give WIUI a spin else of course CM7.2 is the way to go!
