I did not know that, and It seems the world was a better place for me, not knowing. What madness, this is like calling the estilo a zen.
Anyone else remember the huge amounts of screen time the DS got in the highlander TV series?
I used to think the cast should have rolled in this order: Adrian Paul, Citroen DS,

That's great choice. The DS was as capable as it was beautiful.

I am sure you have the TG video of the DS, else you are in for a treat. A great car with a great anchor.

Contessa & Standard 2000 amongst the Indian cars for me, & Dussenberg amongst the international brands. BTW I loved the revival of the Camaro & the Dodge Challanger nameplates.

Re: Which yesteryear legend would you like to see revived by today's manufacturers?

Going only with Indian cars here, my votes have to go to the Baleno and a work of art that was the Standard 2000!

Suffice to say that there was little wrong with the Baleno - except probably the name itself! A car that, in all manner of speaking, was truly ahead of its time! Easily Maruti's best looking car yet.

As far as the Standard 2K goes, just put in a 2.0L turbo mill under the hood and, voilà! - we're good to go!

The Cielo would clock in at a close third.

I guess similar thread already exists on these lines.
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ring-back.html

IMO the Ford Fusion has the potential to clock some decent numbers. It was well ahead of its time.

Re: Believe in re-birth? Which old car would you bring back?

Premier Padmini it should be and hmmmmm please bring back the Contessa our Muscle Car too.

Even if they aren't reintroduced, please make genuine spares for them available to keep them authentic.

Plus many of us wouldn't mind new wine in Old bottle

If only you bothered to go through few pages sincerely, I would've been spared from clarifying it.
To put it simple, when I reported it, it was the part of new thread with the same theme.
Hope it clears the air.

Maruti Zen that was sold around 2002-2003. I love that car! Just want it back more safer. :-)

Re: Believe in re-birth? Which old car would you bring back?

Only if the manufacturers look into this thread...
The Contessa, Sierra please.....
The Baleno, OHC while being good cars are not that much mainstream 'cult' cars to warrant a comeback. For us.? Yes. For the layman? No.
The Contessa please...

Personally, I would love to see the S10 again . This car has always amazed me and if I get a chance to get a well maintained piece, I will do so.

Ya fully agree. But looking at the fate of T-Jet, Fiat will never dare to do so.
After few days someone will mention T-Jet on this thread too.

Resurrection: Which discontinued car do you want on sale again & why?

Dear Mods: I want to start the subjected thread.

Please merge if an existing thread is available.

The thread "was the old model better" is near to this lines but still not exactly matches this.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...el-better.html
_____________

My choice would be MS Zen. for its specs & cute looks i want that to be made again. (Actually was told that it is still being manufactured in low numbers for some non domestic markets)

re: Resurrection: Which discontinued car do you want on sale again & why?

I would like the old indian muscle car to make a re-entry in the Indian market the "Contessa", it was the sexiest car I had seen in those days & still there is no comparison till today.

re: Resurrection: Which discontinued car do you want on sale again & why?

  • HM Contessa (90's model),
  • Tata Sierra,
  • Tata Estate,
  • Benz W123,
  • Fiat 1100,
and to an extent:
  • Indian first generation Palio
  • Mahindra Classic
  • Maruti Esteem

Why? I don't know may be they are unique and have something to go for it.

if I have enough money and not much of commitments, I would simply buy these rather than a new single 20+ Lakhs car.
