The above rates at Concorde, Hyderabad
For Palio MJD, Abhishek Motors charged from me as follows:

On 11 November 2009
Part No. 0051731213 (Fuel Filter Diesel) = Rs. 2810 (after 5% Discount )

Part No. 0073500049 (Oil Filter) = Rs. 418

Part No. 0051775324 (Air Filter Element) = Rs. 241

On 05 March 2010

Part No. 0098500504 (Rear Bumper) = Rs. 5251

Painting and Assembly (Rear Bumper) = Rs. 3465

I feel cheated about the Fuel Filter price. The Punto and Palio MJDs seem to share the same Fuel Filter and in case of the Punto, the price is Rs. 930 plus taxes.

get yourselves a parts catalogue

The best thing would be to buy a spare Parts catalogue at the time of purchase of the car or at the First Service. Most of them are available on a CD if you don't need the thick Hard Copy. Its surprisingly cheap and gives a lot of info. You can order for one at the dealer's Spare Parts Counter. Once you have the part Number you can call the various dealers and get the best price.

Also, by having this catalogue you will know the real difference between the LX, VX and the ZX models, which are not mentioned in the sales brochures of car that is available to its customers at the time of pre-purchase. In most cases even the engineers at the service centres don't know about the difference.

Makes a good collection too.

So long.....

A/c Compressor belt - 800/Alto Rs. 69/-

GTO,
We need a better interface to collaborate on spare parts pricing, it will soon be pain for somebody to go thru the complete thread to verify part cost.

Only that or the whole control stack (Healight, indicators and wiper)? I cried when I paid a similar amount for my Ikon for the whole unit.

I am hoping that it is the complete assembly. But facts will be clear tomorrow. Will keep you posted. Just the switch rod seems insane.

I need internally adjustable ORVM (right side) for my Santro. Other than at the authorised dealer, where can I get it (reasonably priced) in Delhi / NCR ? I think, it is available for 1400/- odd at Hyundai dealer?

I had a breakdown for my car when the LH driveshaft broke. The cost of the Swift Diesel (with ABS) driveshaft is 4720.00. Its different when compared to non ABS vehicles since the ABS sensors are integrated into the driveshafts.

The price is excluding taxes.

For the Octy:

Front brake pads - Rs 1600. Company: Pagid (OEM for VW Germany).
Wishbones (both sides) - Rs 3600. Again German imported.
Rubber struts (or mountings) for front shockers - Rs 700. Rs 2000 for entire shocker kit (including shocker bushes, rubber spring and mounting). Again German imported.

Rates are for best quality parts available in open market (for those familiar with Delhi - from Kashmiri Gate). And the shop owner was dad's friend so perhaps the lowest price was charged for these parts.

Cost of getting all this stuff fitted on to the car - Rs 800 .

If you look beyond the authorised AS* for Skoda then their cars are really not that expensive to mantain.

I think it is close to 5k. A friend got his replaced around a year ago. His was the GXI trim with electronically adjustable rear view mirrors.
