We see advertisements extolling the virtue of being "cheap to maintain" but no one at showroom knows what is the cost of a spare part. Cannot fault them for not knowing but the auto makers should provide a list of frequently used spare parts and their price, when a part need to be replaced, etc. Though one cannot estimate accurately, it helps the prospective buyer get some idea of what the maintenance cost would be.

I drive a 2006 Chevrolet Optra Royale 1.6 LT and I'm kinda in a fix so any help will be much appreciated. I need info on where i can purchase genuine parts for my car. My requirements are quite few, ranging from mechanical parts like Engine Head Gasket 2 cosmetics like Rear Bumper, Head Light Assembly etc...........

Any info, contact no, mail or suggestions would be highly appreciated. I'm sure there are some good People There that treat our cars well. Even recommendations would do. It doesnt matter where, it could be Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkatta, anywhere.. as long as its not From Siliguri. thats where I bough my car from Kaysons Motors Siliguri in West Bengal, which is why I equire all these parts for in the first place !!!! Also Experiences in the past and that too about 4 or 5 times have taught me not to go to that Chevy KILLER!!! lol.

So please guys, anyhelp would be highly appreciated as i need to get my Chevy back on the road.

You could look through this section. Offhand, in Delhi, I could recommend both this shop as well as this one. You could call and find out whether a specific part you want is available or not.

I had gone through web to find size of oil seals for mitsubishi lancer diesel (4D68) engine, there are five oil seals in the engine, but if you get it from automobile shops it will be costlier , around Rs.1300 for five. But you can ask for any koyo / NOK / pioneer oil seal dealer or shop with the size, you will get all those oil seals at half the price.

The size of the oil seal are given below with OE part number, but we need only size, NOK and Koyo are good brands.

Cam shaft oil seal - 35 x 50 x 8 MD008762

Crank shaft Front - 44 x 60 x 7 MD008882

Crank shaft rear - 85 x 103 x 7.5 MD359158

Oil pump seal - 20 x 30 x 7 MD095355

Balancer shaft seal - 25 x 35 x 6 MD050608

it is inner dia x outer dia x thickness


For example , i enquired cam shaft oil seal for lancer in auto shop, it is repacked with price tag of Rs.300 but from an pioneer oil seal dealer it is just Rs.48, when i asked specifying size as 35x50x8. NOK/ koyo may be bit costlier.

There wont be any huge difference in spares, but labor costs are on the higher side.

They said you will have to replace the bumper and paint the entire wheel arch. It would come to 6k+

To work on the existing bumper (temp work) would come to 4k+.

Labor charges came to 3k alone for my 20,000 km service.

I drive a 2006 Innova Diesel G4. Just left the vehicle for a 60K service and they have quoted the below. Can someone kindly confirm the rates provided by them?

MGA price was around Rs. 3500.
Outside, I got another company manufactured one for Rs. 2800.
