re: Ford Mustang coming to India. EDIT: Launched at 65 lakhs

Todays Mid-Day ( Mumbai ) carries test report of Mustang

http://www.mid-day.com/articles/test...boost/16545190

It is ecoboost inline 4

Specs given are

Ford Mustang Ecoboost
Engine: 2,300 cc, in-line four, turbocharged, direct injection, petrol
Max Power: 314 PS @5,500 rpm
Max Torque: 434 Nm @2,500-4,500 rpm
Transmission: Six-speed, twin-clutch automatic, RWD
Price: Rs 70 lakh (estimated, ex-showroom)

Now 70 L for ecoboost !!

My verdict ( althogh I am not market expert ) - Flop to Superflop

Useless Mid day . Even if Ford want's to price the Eco boost reasonaby , Journalists like Mid Day may not let that happen.

Mustang Ecoboost is priced 3-5k USD lower than BMW 320 i/d in US.
Mustang V6 is priced almost 10k USD lower than BMW 320 i/d in US.
If Ford wishes to launch Mustang anywhere above BMW 3 series price point in India, it will lead to -
" If wishes were horses, Mustangs would fly (off the showroom)"😃😃

Is it true that Ford will be doing something similar to Maruti Nexa showroom for thier premium offering, aka Endeavour and the mighty Mustang?

re: Ford Mustang coming to India. EDIT: Launched at 65 lakhs

Stumbled upon something interesting today as I was searching Ford dealerships in Vashi for looking at the new Figo hatch.

The 'Mustang' is listed!
Unfortunately its just a link to the Ford USA Mustang web page. :(

Nevertheless it's a good sneak!

Download from Apple App store:http://bit.ly/MustangApp_Apple

Download from Google Play store:http://bit.ly/MustangApp_Android

Unfortunately to my disappointment it is incompatible with my phone. My bad :(
Hope you guys get to enjoy it

The hardtop has been seen at the ARAI. The GT 5.0 one. I don't see the soft top coming to India soon.

Those Roush, Airraid, Steeda, Cobb, Mishimoto and also the official Ford Parts has been teasing and taunting me day in day out.

Hopefully Ford will release it in Delhi!

As of now only 5.0L V8 Hardtop is expected to be launched. I am a Ford Dealer and would be getting an update soon on this.

No. It's only going to be in Automatic. The bookings will start after the auto expo. 2016.

Not trying to crush the hopes but Mustang in India would most likely be launched over 50L, highly doubt it will be launched with a manual version.

And that would end up being a deal breaker. Plus, I wonder if they'll keep it as low as it currently is or will they increase the ground clearance.

There is another issue. I have a friend in the states who claims that the mustang has crazy blind spots and could be pretty hard to maneuver in the Indian traffic conditions.

Mustang is not a low sprung vehicle, so there is no requirement to lift the vehicle by Ford or include nose lifting technology to it.
There is not much you can see out of the back of Jag F-type either ,So IMO it is not going to be a deal breaker for the buyer.
