Why cant TATA copy Discovery (pre 2015) for the outside form? Will be a refreshing change for an Indian SUV and also make it a little wider.

@moralfibre: does it really make sense to go for a Safari rather than storme. The Safari is available only in 4x2 guise, but at mouth watering prices. In the real world, what are the differences? I read the comparisions on carwale.com, etc., but makes no real sense to me. Both look similar but storme is supposed to be legion ahead in ride and handling and a also fit and finish.

Thanks John Doe, By any chance did you peek inside to see if third row seats are front facing?

Oops, I did not look inside properly. I am not too much into SUVs:-(

The more I think about it, I don't remember seeing a 3rd row at all. Maybe the seat s were folded up, like current Stormes.

BTW, what does LET 320 NM mean? I mean the LET part.

Don't ask me how I know this but to answer your question - The seats are not front facing.

The new Tata Safari Storme does not have front facing third row seats, it has a new 6-speed gearbox and a new engine churning out 160BHP and the central console now has an integrated music system, note- it's not a 2DIN, it's just an integrated music system without touch screen display. The front grille has a new design, the STORME lettering on the chrome strip is now in Black.

You are right. You can see the grabhandle on the lefthand side near the tail gate. This is used to climb inside the SUV.

Have seen the new dashboard, only the centre console is changed to accommodate the new HU, its got a brushed metal trim all round, I did not like the look as much, even the clock is now missing.
