Even if Maruti decides (very likely) to bring the Global Vitara it will be in specific configurations - could be in Boosterjet/ DDiS320 (localized) engine only and AT variant at a particular price point - way above the S Cross.

S Cross is doing well in the DDiS200 configuration, expect a petrol (1.5 l / boosterjet) to increase its sales.
The DDiS320, once the engine is localized ( which is in plan as reported) will
complete the picture for their crossover.
Expect the facelift S Cross( likely yr 2017 for India) to have some power train changes in them.

I don't think we can say S Cross is doing well with sales figures going downhill within 1st year of launch and approx 2000 units per month over last 3 months don't speak that well either. Hope the facelift and petrol engine options can turn this around for S-cross.

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza @ Auto Expo 2016

Training of dealer personnel for Vitara Brezza is in progress (started 2 days back). Vehicle is now available in training sessions, but under heavy security.

Dealer training pan India is likely to be complete by end Feb.

Media drive and Official bookings can be expected by First week of March. Vitara Brezza is also likely to be displayed at strategic locations before launch.

Thanks for sharing the images. Wonder why they didn't use an optional dual tone for training purpose. Do they get to TD the car as well? Any more impressions about the "drive" ?

Gosh, Maruti started providing dead pedal too!!

Edit:: I think, right now, this is the cheapest car which satisfies my criterion for the next vehicle with ACC & Cruise control. Overall, it ticks all the right boxes, though it'll be the top end. Sad that I probably can't make use of the company lease as this might be priced above the limit. Looking forward to any indication of the top end price too.

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza @ Auto Expo 2016

How is this ZDi+ featuring a single colour? I was under the impression that the top model comes only in the dual colour tone.

The silver colour looks very ordinary in any case. The international Vitara I have seen in a creme and black colour. That looked fantastic. Hope we get it in VB.

Customization will be offered only on the ZDi+, that will come at an additional price

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza @ Auto Expo 2016

For the love of GOD, can someone answer these questions?

1) Is there any possibility of a 1.6 DDIS in this ?
2) Are we going to have an option of being able to buy the very amazing 17 inch alloy wheels which Suzuki sells with the2016 Vitara in other countries?

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza @ Auto Expo 2016

Car looks pretty ordinary with average looking interior and front looks like Alto. This one looks average in universal car colours white and silver.

Hope it looks good in person especially bright dual tone.

I second that. I always kept wondering why Maruti was shying away from something so simple.

My dad had the top variants of Wagon-R and Swift and I have the Ritz, all of which do not have a dead pedal. I had even enquired at the dealership as to why such a simple thing is missing and the SA did not seem to have any idea what I was talking about.
Looks like will not have to bother about a sore left foot with this car after those long higway hauls.

If I can add to the list:
3) Any possibility of getting an automatic version in the top-end version?

Based on what is known till date from forums and dealer interaction, here is my take.

1. DDiS320 is ruled out for Vitara Brezza .
2. 17"Alloy wheels may not be offered from MGA
3. Vitara Brezza will not be launched in an AT variant. ( AMT maybe at a later date)

Re: The Maruti Vitara Brezza @ Auto Expo 2016

The car looks really Elegant in Grey Color. I am assuming the dealer demo vehicles did not have contrast roof color since we are looking at ZDI+. They should also added the SVHS to diesel as they did to CIAZ. Overall, the Vitara Brezza is growing dad by day and I expect them to sell in a good numbers. Folks who plan to book Swift or Baleno, now have another option and customer is spoiled with option.

Come on Maruti - launch it with A(M)T and take my money! Also, whenever you launch it, please do so in top end versions and not the lower variants such as in the Baleno.

Thankfully am not in a hurry to change my 2014 Honda City and will wait another 6 months before deciding. The Creta AT is becoming very expensive (16+ in Mumbai).

I wonder why Maruti is not able to provide more automatic options despite there being a clear shift in market demand from manual to auto... is it production constraints or is the market research run by the same bunch of smart dudes who strategized NEXA?

Being six feet two inch tall, that is the first feature I look for in a new car. Always wonder why car manufacturers skim on this basic stuff. Glad Maruti is providing it.

If Brezza comes with a good AMT or AT, I will strongly consider it for an upgrade.
