Here is the 2017 Suzuki Swift on test. To be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2017. After its presentation in May will begin production and is expected to be on sale in the third quarter.
India is likely to get the New Swift in the festive season of 2017 ( Oct-Nov)

The spy photos show the evolution of the car toward a more elaborate design than the current Suzuki , a striking design, with smooth curves and sloping roofline, keeping details like the floating roof and even body shape body, which is more angular, with a wider stance and more pronounced shoulders at the pillar C. at the rear, is new tailgate that opens much lower than the current version for easy loading.

At the front, a new hexagonal grille and large air intakes and headlights is a new design but be inspired by the Suzuki Baleno. At the top of the front fender we can see a character line extending from the top of the headlights and the wheel arch before disappearing into the front door panel. A similar line extending from the center back to the top of the taillights door. On the side, the rear door handles are now under the rear window.

Is this really the all new Swift? The stance doesn't look good at all with those puny tyres.

Possible it's some other car? As the pics just above your post has the clear lense in the tail light in horizontal pattern where as it is vertical in the pic posted by you.

Plus, the rear fog lamp is in the bottom middle of the rear bumper for the new Swift and the other car has it on both sides of the rear bumper. Can't be the Swift.

The New Swift Sport spied on test again, this time being bench marked with Peugeot 208 GTi (the engine of this model is the 1.6 THP that develops a maximum power of 208 hp.)

The intention is that the Suzuki Swift Sport offers faster acceleration reducing the weight and increasing the torque, but still stay away from the 208 hp of the French model. Still it is expected that the new sporty little Japanese raise the maximum power a CV more than the original 140 hp.

Swift Sport would differentiate in external appearance to the Standard Swift.
by a more aggressive front, with a hexagonal grille, a bumper jacks larger air and headlights with LED daytime running lights, while the rear will have a double tailpipe integrated in the bumper and tires and alloy wheels and larger roof spoiler. The Japanese brand will offer a wide range of customization options for both exterior and interior.

This version of the Suzuki Swift mount the new turbo four - cylinder gasoline K14C-DITC Boosterjet 1.4L engine technology, an evolution of which is mounted on the Suzuki Vitara S and which yields a maximum power of 140 hp. It will be mated to a manual gearbox 6 - speed and could offer the option of Allgrip AWD system plus an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) in some markets.

New details of the 2017 Swift emerge,

According to the info provided, the engines include the 1.2 Dualjet four cylinder engine and 1.0L Boosterjet three cylinder engine. The former comes in two variants: regular model with a 5-speed manual gearbox and SHVS mild hybrid variant paired with a CVT. Both variants are reported to produce 91 PS, and weigh between 830 – 910 kg, thanks to the new lightweight platform sourced from Baleno.

The top-end variant is powered by a 1.0L Boosterjet engine that produces 102 PS, which is 10 PS less powerful than the Baleno Boosterjet. The Swift Boosterjet is only available with a 6-speed automatic gearbox (torque converter), and it weighs 930 kg. Other features listed in the top-end turbo model include radar brake support (RBS), curtain airbags, and automatic headlamps

To keep it distinct from the Baleno, the Swift is likely to be similar in size to the current model. Exterior styling is expected to be sportier, with larger air dams, a big hexagonal grille, and the familiar ‘floating roof’ look. Interiors too will receive a major overhaul, and will continue the sporty theme of the exterior. Highlights include a flat-bottom steering wheel and a hooded instrument binnacle.

The first-gen Swift really made justice to its moniker. It look nice, handled brilliantly and more importantly went like a rocket (esp. DDiS).

The 2017 Swift IMO looks too quirky and seems to have no identity

Maruti probably recruited a designer who was a fruit juice vendor before. He seems to have made a Mix-shake of Elite I20, Renault Pulse and first-gen Swift for the 2017 design. LOL

Can Maruti ever design ONE car that looks hot? Though the S-Cross and Baleno look much better than others from the stable, IMO other than the Brezza, Maruti really have nothing else to even contest in the Smart Looking Car segment.

P.S - Current-gen Swift actually has grown on me though and with good rims and a tiny bit of fat rubber, looks exquisite.

Somehow the side profile doesn't look very convincing in this render, the spy shots of the car suggest a sharper design.

Will Maruti-Suzuki care to improve the structural stability in the next Generation Swift? That's one most important thing that I am interested in rather than the flat bottomed steering wheel.
