re: The 2020 next-gen Mahindra Thar : Driving report on page 86

This is an amazing product. Price is to be unveiled on 2nd October :(

If the top model comes to be around 12-13 lakhs, this will sell like hot cakes!

Looks great inside out! Quality looks very good in the pictures. Can't wait to check it out in person.

They've hit it out of the park with the variants and the overall features. Fingers crossed on the QC and the pricing. Wow, i do not have the need for one, but this could very well be M&M's 650 twins moment if they do not fall into old habits. Guess it's time to start setting aside money then

Tyretronics refers to TPMS? If yes, was that mentioned at the launch event?

That is everything I expected the new Thar to be. The powertrain looks solid and healthy
The only thing I don't like is the front grille design, maybe the aftermarket will come up with some tasteful replacements.

Man that looks so good. I am 50% tempted to sell my Jeep and buy the new Thar. Don't expect it to be cheap though. I expect Mahindra to do what Jeep does in the USA. The Wrangler is expensive. This is going to be a full-on profit making machine, not value for money.

I feel Mahindra has put all of the learnings of the earlier car into the new one. I can almost hear the roaring laughter of Behram Dhabhar. God bless his soul.

Now that's a lovely looking Thar. The fit and finish appears to be much better than the erstwhile model. If Mahindra keeps it niggle free, this should sell like hot cakes. Early batches suffer from some or the other niggles, I hope this one stays clear of all that. I get a feeling that they've used the first gen Thar as a testing bed and come up with 2nd gen ironing out all the deficiencies. Fingers crossed.

Some cars are drool worthy, you just want to have them in your garage, this is one of them.

Brilliant effort!! Love the looks! That front grill, takes some to digest!! A mesh grill, if provided as an option, should fix things to some extent!

The launch in my opinion was the worst I have ever come across!! Other than Veejay, everyone else seemed totally unprepared or had stage fright!! Kripa! My god!! She was the weakest of all presenters!! Comon on guys it’s your product! You should be excited!! None showed any enthusiasm while launching such a special vehicle!!! BAD!!

Overall the new Thar looks so polished and new generation. The interiors are cool too. The HT looks great and from the pics looks perfectly implemented.
I just did not like the front silver part of the bumper looks very odd and hideous.
Overall all kudos to Mahindra

I think Anand Mahindra's presence would have brought the genuineness to the event! But from his view-point, this was one of the product launches of one of this companies!

Looks masculine, robust and looks very nice in the market of soft gizmo from Kia's and Hyundai's. Facing the wind was reiterated by all the presenters. Is it like we can expect soft top coming into market first ? Let's wait for Oct 2nd. Moreover if any of hard top petrol variant MT is priced below 13L ex showroom then they are talking about sales numbers.

re: The 2020 next-gen Mahindra Thar : Driving report on page 86

It seems there is no removable hard top option here ? Can someone confirm this ?

Also the petrol engine has a higher power output and higher torque ! It seems the new iteration of the mHawk was made to promote the petrol engine !

Sign me up for a LX series Petrol Automatic Hard Top !

I just wish/ hope that the hard top could be removed when desired and also that some aftermarket mod for the front grille !

You just worded my thoughts! Absolutely god bless BD Sir's soul! It is because of him that we're seeing this vehicle out. Had it not been his tinkering and forcing Mahindra to launch the Thar back then Mahindra would never have thought of this! They saw the following. They saw what people like me are waiting for- a more comfy and practical Thar!
And they've delivered!
It's not going to be cheap but each of us will see value in our own senses.
One LX Auto for me with all options loaded in that bluish green color! Petrol or Diesel would be decided on Test Drive! Though I'm already leaning towards the petrol!

BD sir- Thank You!!
