  • Both will have HT & ST Options

This is slated to be the full range

At what point of time the full range will be available is a question that hopefully will be answered on 15th August.
Pretty power-packed line up by Mahindra. Good to see them treating a niche enthusiast's product as it should be treated. The turbo petrol might ask a premium IMO. Will be exciting to see its placement in terms of pricing.
If the turbo petrol variant is priced anywhere around the INR 15 Lakhs mark, it will be a steal!

This is a very valid point for and makes total sense for those people living under the NGT sword and many more of us will have the NGT sword hanging over us eventually.

This particular mstallion engines unlike your starndard petrol engines is a long stroke engine with a turbo. ON paper it is a kick-ass engine. Read up more about it here. You won't get any lack of low end grunt with this engine.

Somehow manual gearbox has a macho effect attached to it and hence many say manual, but I do agree with you that for any of us who live in an urban area in India is much better off with an automatic.

I for one will never buy a new car with manual transmission, unless of course it is purely a sports sedan like a BMW M3 or something like that.

re: The 2020 next-gen Mahindra Thar : Driving report on page 86

Can't believe that the unveil is happening tomorrow. It has been a L-O-N-G wait for enthusiasts and there was a good reason for many to come and check the team-bhp page every 2 hours to see any new information available regarding THAR.

The most spied vehicle, the most anticipated launch of this year. Even though the too extra long time taken by M&M has started diluting the excitement, this product has helped in making people feel, understand& learn the art of "patience".

I pray M&M to keep excitement alive by not mentioning the pricing and keep the audience in toe for few more months as anyways I don't have the financials to buy THAR now. (Just kidding).

Hope they don't shatter the dream of many and give an irresistible package which will force people to keep the house dream aside and buy a THAR.

I don’t think anyone in Mahindra atleast is capable of proving that. Lets be respectful to scientists even in humour. We owe a lot of our present living to them, and not in the least ,Newton.

Yeah, would agree. Their live young, live free ads were so good, maybe could have continued in the same vein.

I think this is the same brain at work which had marketed the TUV as a tank earlier - "destroying" doors and stuff.

Ha ha ha , yes overzealous indeed - reminds me of XUV5OO launch , want to see that teaser?

Here!

I still however think that as far as Ads go, Scorpio was their best effort (older ones especially) - there were a series of Ads for each revision.

You could very well see a Cheetah the first time it closed in on your rear view mirror on the highway, good design sells.

I know that most Bhpians would have definitely seen this video multiple times, but still couldn't resist posting this today. In my personal opinion, this is the one of the best videos ever released by an Indian automobile company which really reaches out to every enthusiast out there. Hoping that tomorrow's launch by Mahindra would be one that would inspire more people to "Live Young, Live Free".

re: The 2020 next-gen Mahindra Thar : Driving report on page 86

After checking this thread each hour for almost an year, can't believe it's less than 12 hours to the unveil.
Though i am guessing the unveil would still leave the big question of price unanswered (i think there would be a separate "launch" event planned for that).
Tomorrow is when I start saving up for this iteration for the Thar - can't wait

Hahahaa Anand Mahindra sir’s tweet now makes sense to me. I’ve read his tweet without the backstory and it felt out of context. Good banter, indeed . Mahindra's SUV game is going to be strong once the next gen XUV500 and Scorpio are released.

Anyways, here’s the link to the live stream. Super stoked.

And here's Mahindra's alternative webcast url, in the highly unlikely event that Youtube fails.
