re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2017. EDIT: It's the Jeep Compass

My Top 5 list: Jeep Compass, BMW 5 Series, Tata Hexa, Maruti Dzire & Volvo V90 Cross Country.

BMW 5 Series: Takes the driving fun game to next level clubbed with Next Gen creature comfort features.
Tata Hexa: Very Good quality Product, priced right, awesome ride quality and auto box. Better value than Innova.
Maruti Dzire: Goes from one of the most ugly looking to the best looking compact sedan in one shot! Hail Maruti for enhancing the appeal of an already practical package.
Volvo V90 Cross Country: Hot Estate! And its bringing this segment to fore, which in my opinion is even more practical than SUVs, and not as sad looking as MPVs.

All these were worthy contenders. But my vote goes to Jeep Compass. FCA has brought their A game to the table with Compass. They have not treated Indian buyer as a third world wanna be, and provided export quality Compass in India at a very competitive price, and because of this effort, FCA needs to be applauded. Hopefully they will add missing features in upcoming variants.

Voted for Compass and instantly regretted. Damn the numbers its HEXA for me.

Super MUV from Tata Motors that is my current object of Desire. Stately, Muscular, Powerful. What a beast!

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2017. EDIT: It's the Jeep Compass

I was torn between the 5 series and the Compass. The 5 series because of the giant leap it took over the last gen car. I do think the F10 looks better but this is a much better car overall.

However, for the sheer impact that the Compass has had on the Indian market and Fiat in India, I voted for the Compass. Fiat has some amazing cars and our streets would do well to have a few more of their products. The Compass could be the car that brings more people into the showrooms and the new upcoming sedan could also find some footing in the market.

Couldn't have made a better description of why I voted for this car! I guess car is very rarely spotted on the road, making it almost invisible to the market.

Just look at it!

Voted Hexa. Loved the Jeep Compass after reading the reviews but still haven't been able to do a TD or see it in person up close, so gave the benefit of doubt to the Hexa which I did TD and found it to be awesome.

HEXA from me - from the heart & the wallet!
From the moment I test drove it last December, I knew where my heart was (and my wallet apparently as well later on). It does most of the things very well at a fraction of a price.

Well Nexon it is for me
A good all round VFM package that has good quality interiors and a diesel engine which is such a strong performer and combined with the ride quality which I experienced, it is an amazing car through and through.

My vote goes to Hexa. My choice was between the Hexa and the Nexon. Loved the Nexon except the looks at the rear end so it didn't get my vote. Tata seems to be putting in some effort in their vehicle styling and kudos to them on that.

I liked the V90 Cross Country so much I actually bought one! Gets my vote hands down. It's such a radically different offering from everything else on the market

Voted for the Nexon. Great value, head turning design. The right vehicle for tata to work towards their turn around plan.

re: Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2017. EDIT: It's the Jeep Compass

My vote goes to the Hexa. It's not that I'm biased because I own one. But once after getting used to the comfort levels of the beast, it's difficult to look elsewhere. But then this thing has its share of pros and cons and in this case it's pros outweigh it's cons.

It was close call between the Compass and the Hexa. The compass just didn't get my vote because of the lack of space in the second row and the missing goodies over the competition (e.g auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, etc.). Also, a dimwit move from FCA's end is that you don't get 6-airbags in Limited (O) 4x2 (MT and AT both) variant. It's like if someone wants 6-airbags, he/she will have to stretch their budget by a couple of Lacs and get the 4x4 trim.

So, it's the Hexa for me eyes closed.

Out there in the high-end German executive saloons, it's the BMW 5-series (G30 530d to be specific) which gets my vote hands down. I just love this mean machine to the bits and that 3-litre 6-cylinder inline 6 under the hood is so yum! I just can't get enough of it.

P.S : May I know the reason as to why the Octavia vRS isn't in the list. Many of us know that this isn't a mere facelift but a lot more. It's more of a new offering from Skoda to India. Wish it was in the list. If it was in the list, it would've got my vote eyes closed.

Team-BHP Car of the Year, 2017

Voted for the Compass. It simply has shaken up the segment. People who wouldn't look beyond Honda/Hyundai in the 15-25L segment are actually considering it. This speaks volumes about the desirability factor of the Compass. To me it's a winner because of the following reasons-

1. Appealing design.
2. Balanced suspension setup which doesn't compromise on comfort nor handling.
3. The 2.0L multijet is mind blowing.
4. Pricing is right considering the Creta.

Voted for the Nexon, for its a truly new car, that has been developed from ground up and has a fantastic ride quality with a nice diesel engine and great interiors and build quality. For the price it offers lot more than any of its competitors. Wish Tata lot more success, only reason i did not vote for Hexa is because its a reincarnation, i think this award should be for a product that is fresh and developed in India for India.
