Oh yes definitely, this one is coming with the 9 speed autobox and it should cost around 31 to 32 lacs on road.

Thanks for the Spyshots.

But, I have a doubt,

The Jeep Compass Trailhawk. EDIT: Launched @ 26.8 lakhs-imageuploadedbyteambhp1557756684.989165.jpg

The Trailhawk doesn't have the display for temperature. While the recently introduced Sport Plus has one. See below.

Has Jeep updated the above Climate Control Unit across the range or is this specifically applicable for variants that use 5" ICE.

Trailhawk has 8.4" ICE like Limited Plus.

Am I missing something ?

Perfect car and a true Swiss knief for India. A compact footprint, easy to maneuver in the city, big and powerful enough to enjoy highway drives safely and effortlessly (especially with auto and cruise control), solid hardware for moderate offloading and mountainous terrains. However 32L on-road is just too much. Hope Jeep brings in a stripped down Auto+4WD combination in the 22 Lac range similar to the Compass sport plus, I know that is a pipe dream.

But seriously, I feel they should be able to find a cheaper Auto +AWD solution than the expensive 8-speed one. They should talk to TATA and use the latter's frugal engineering and sourcing expertise to find a cheaper and common Auto+AWD solution that works for both Compass and Harrier.

The separate temperature display is only for the sport plus as it doesn't come with the U connect Infotainment which shows the temperature in the higher variants. The Limited and above have the volume and tuning wheels instead as can be seen in the image.

re: The Jeep Compass Trailhawk. EDIT: Launched @ 26.8 lakhs

I think FCA is failing on price, they first thought of premium offering at cheaper price that undercuts Germans but forgot that they were competing then with XUV500 (which offers more seating and features) & Creta (5 seater mid-premium) in the ₹20 lacs price bracket in a sensitive market.

Now if the Trailhawk which is many enthusiasts’ dream, competes with bigger dreams like Endeavour and Fortuner if it crosses the ₹30 lacs price bracket.

Fingers crossed!

FCA should keep in mind that the Compass is a small SUV. The Endevour and Fortuner are in a different segment and have proper 4*4 credentials. Every single SUV in the 16 plus lakh price point is bigger than the Compass except for the Creta.

Hope they do not get carried away and price the Compass beyond 25 lakh Ex showroom. It will be really suicidal as the segment beyond 30 lakhs is not that price sensitive. 35 to a 40 lakh OTR stretch is easily done. The Germans are not to far away either. You could land a Q3 for 40 lakh now in Bangalore.

FCA has their hands full. The MG Hector and the all new Tucson will be out soon and both of them will trump the Trailhawk on real estate. The Sports Plus Compass retails for around 20 lakh OTR Bangalore, the Harrier retails for 21.50 lakhs for the top spec.

FCA should look at a decent start price with the launch of the Trailhawk rather than discount big later on.

Drive and handling hardly matter to 90% of the market which will make purchases based on features. This is where the Hector might prove to be a big hit. Game on and hope FCA keeps the Trailhawk pricing to reasonable levels. I am so hoping this brand to succeed.

Few more photos.

Looks like the Trailhawk is missing the front parking sensors and the Beats audio available on their international trims.

Thanks for the scoop Arjun.

In the above pic, the trademark red tow hooks are missing, will they not be present in the India spec Trailhawk?

Cheers

Did notice it Uday. Not sure what the plan is ? Is it a pre production model and the tow hooks will get added finally or FCA wants to actually remove them to actually tone down the off road image of the Trailhawk?

Maybe they are expecting a lot of corporate folk to buy the Trailhawk for the automatic and hence tried to tone the front design down.

It will be a shame if we do not get the signature hooks.

It has a regular concealed tow hook at the moment.

Have not known FCA to change the design of the Trailhawk versions. Fingers crossed on this one.

Also front parking sensors and a front facing camera would have been ideal for off roading. Wishful thinking.

re: The Jeep Compass Trailhawk. EDIT: Launched @ 26.8 lakhs

FCA should have added the AT to their Limited Plus variant and launched Trail Hawk in all its glory with a manual. AT appeals to the office going crowd who may not be able to appreciate the more off-road orientation of trail hawk. The raised height may affect its road manners as well. All in all, poor variant strategy IMO.

In the picture there is a new warning sign(very sorry if it was already there, I don't remember seeing it though) with a tailgate open, does this mean an electrically operated tailgate will be on offer? Or maybe I'm over imaginative.

re: The Jeep Compass Trailhawk. EDIT: Launched @ 26.8 lakhs

If its coming in at Rs. 31-32 L, OTR, it edges very close MU-X and Alturas, price-wise. Not sure that is a good strategy. Most folks who want a bad-roader, with 4x4/Auto combo would be tempted to move up, I think. That leaves just a small group of enthusiasts who also have deep pockets. I guess the updated V-Cross deserves a second look!

The Compass Trailhawk India spec will not get

Rain sensing auto wipers

Automatic headlights

The 8 way adjustable memory function driver's seat.

18 inch alloys. It gets 17 inch.

The Ruby red tow hooks in the front.

With the deleted features over the Limited Plus now expecting FCA to price the Trailhawk just slightly above the Limited Plus.

I can understand the 17 inch alloys. The other features are a must have in a car that is going to cost above 30 lakhs OTR. :

re: The Jeep Compass Trailhawk. EDIT: Launched @ 26.8 lakhs

BTW, just in case folks are not aware, the Trailhawk does NOT get a traditional low range transfer case. All that the "4WD Low" switch does is to lock the auto transmission in 1st gear (does not allow downshifting) which in itself is of a fairly low ratio, so as to emulate a low range gear box!! So much for the "trail rated" badge
