| ![]() Simply wow!! Just look at that side profile. If the production car looks remotely close to these pics then Tata will have to stave off the buyers that will be making a beeline to their dealerships. I really, really hope the final product looks good. I have a good feeling about this car. |

| ![]() Poor product life cycle management by Tata. Where does this leave Hexa owners? |

How do you conclude that? Based on rumours or speculations by us bhpians? Let us wait for things to happen before passing judgements or statements. We do not know how the company will position their products yet. It is all speculation. | |

Diesel engine speeds are categorized under three headings - a) Slow speed engines (from roughly 50 rpm to about 250 rpm) which are today used mainly as marine propulsion engines (as well as some shore-based power generators) and are usually 2-stroke in nature, with outputs ranging from about 1500 kw to 30,000 kw and even higher. They also have bore/stroke ratios upto 1: 4.3125 (bore=800 mm / stroke=3450 mm) b) Medium speed engines , from roughly 500 rpm to 2000+ rpm and THESE are typically used as power generators on board, locomotive diesels and large earthmoving equipment. c) High speed engines from app. 2500 rpm upto 5000+ rpm and these are principally used in automotive applications. A bore/stroke ratio of 0.885 (as quoted) is a mildly under-square design (bore smaller than stroke) as are almost all automotive diesels. And this is the principal reason for their excellent torque characteristics as compared to gasoline engines. Going into greater detail would be straying wildly OT – enough to say that diesel combustion characteristics (flame speed propagation & ignition characteristics etc. in the combustion chamber) limit diesel engine speeds to 5000rpm+. Whereas gasoline combustion doesn’t suffer from these restrictions & you routinely have gasoline performance engines (F1, e.g.) going upto 10000 rpm and beyond. Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Nice tail light set up. Looking forward to the full reveal. Wish list: Array of safety features like 6 airbags, ESP, TC as standard across all trim levels. In the higher trims, adaptive LED headlights and larger navigation/ICE screen and a full digital instrument console. With the might of TCS behind them this cannot be that hard a deal. If only dreams could become real. ![]() The front design now seems to be catching up with the Europeans/Koreans (Hyundai/Kia). The next gen Skoda eKodiaq might feature this type of a DRL on top and headlight set up. This was done long ago by the Nissan Juke and currently used in Citroen Picasso. As long as the proportions are maintained, this could be a nice design language. Citroen Picasso: ![]() Last edited by Aditya : 8th August 2018 at 09:47. Reason: Inserting image as attachment |

| ![]() Akin to 18:9 or 19:9 screen ratios replacing the 16:9 Displays for mobile phones in 2018... this (headlamp) placement could be the new trend for 4 wheelers. The upcoming Chevrolet Blazer Last edited by payeng : 7th August 2018 at 16:53. |
