IMO, the reason the front looked busy to me was the difference of the lights' console size between the concept and the final version; the concept's was much smaller than the final version's. Attaching the cropped pics (taken from earlier posts) for reference. I know and appreciate the difference between concept and reality, just felt it could've been done a bit more aesthetically.

Actually the front design is not of the H5X but the H7X as shown in the auto expo video including the headlight cluster shape and size, the grille shape and size etc. This could have been done from a commonality perspective.

It may just be the indicator lamp though if that is not integrated with the DRLs. The indicators should however not be located so far from the edge of the vehicle.

In the scoops recorded on video till now, the Indicators have been noticed to be integrated with the DRLs only. And with the DRLs on the whole day and even with the headlights on, I guess it will not be a separate Parking Lamp (or can it be?).

A Cornering Lamp like the ones in Nexon seem like the best bet as of now. We'll have to wait for the official launch to know what is what or for the Media Drives in early December.

Looks really nice. Hope that they price it at par with Creta. Creta is a lone racer in the segment. I want a second car in Creta segment but I can't find any. Hopefully Harrier will be the one.

I think the Harrier sits nicely between the Creta and Compass for sure. If we go by the price point they tweeted about, then Tata has a winner. It's an awesome D segment SUV...a first from an Indian manufacturer. I seem to love the way it looks. As of now my booking stays with Tata. Just want to see it in flesh before I shell the rest on the car.

I didn't quite like the front. It is too busy and somehow the curvy/smiling face design is a bit too much for my taste.
Nevertheless, looking forward to the official review to see how the car lives up to the hype in terms of engineering !

The design with placing headlamps that low seems to have percolated across brands, and Hyundai seems to have made it their family face, looking at the Kona and the Santa Fe.

Jeep also attempted the same with their Cherokee, and finally common sense prevailed and their facelift brought back a more conventional face, which has helped greatly in improving the looks.

I think it would look good in black colour. Is that one of the colours ? The bulbous rear looks good on LR SUVs but here its a little big with plastic bumper taking up the complete rear. After C pillar, there is so much plastic other than the trunk gate.
Could have made the headlight cluster a litte neater. They could have moved the fog light below for a sharper and cleaner view from the front.

A departure from what was showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year, most certainly!

Whilst they have retained all major design cues, the overall design has gained bulk and has lost some of its tautness.

The concept H5X's skin appeared to have been stretched tightly around the car's silhouette. However, the production Harrier seems to have put on some weight, especially around its hind-quarters.

That said, it's quite unrealistic to expect the Harrier to retain upto 95% of the H5X's styling. The wheels are a bit of a disappointment though.

Will reserve further comments until I see it in the flesh, as photographs rarely do any car justice these days.

Certainly a long time coming, for Tata.

Mahindra has been laughing all the way to the bank with their XUV 500. It's time for Tata to host the party!
