Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

In the brochure, multi reflector headlamp is mentioned for Delta+ and above variants where as Sigma and Delta get projector setup. Is this a typo?

No, I do not customize my cars. Everything, right down to the seat covers are kept in stock condition. I go with the base variants because they are the most economical.

Not a typo. It is halogen projector in Sigma and Delta. Other variants are equipped with LED multi-reflector headlights.

I am confused between Brezza Vxi AT and Fronx Zeta AT.
Which one is more suitable for Bangalore traffic?

Missed opportunity by Autocar to enquire on Fronx Safety. Safety specs on paper looks good, only questions is whether Fronx will have stable structure. 30 Kgs additional weight compared to Baleno might be an indication that Maruti might have added or strengthen vehicle structure. If Fronx can score 4 star crash rating with stable structure, lot of homes will own safe cars under one million rupees.

Fronx has lot of potential to satisfy small family needs,
  • Compact pseudo SUV, additional ground clearance along with macho looks will be better than same spec compact sedan or hatchback.
  • Only Tata and Mahindra have established consistently brining safe vehicles across the price range but they don’t offer compact SUV with proper automatic.
  • It’s a great opportunity for Maruti to grab some positive attention with respect to safety when compared to Hyundai & Kia.
  • Fronx is compact in external dimension but can be a comfortable 5 seater , a rare welcoming trait
.
Planning to get a safe, fun to drive automatic, compact Cross over or SUV in couple of years, Fronx is the front runner along with Honda’s upcoming compact SUV.

Hope Maruti or Global NCAP will soon publish Fronx crash rating and help potential owners to make informed decision on purchasing a safer car.

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

Looks like a great derivative of the Baleno platform, and not just a minor change / facelift. For sure will be a hit if they don't get greedy with the pricing.

Wish Maruti had chosen a better name though. May be there is a special story behind it, but for me, Fronx sounds like a random mix of Frog, Song, Socks, Box, and Bronze.

Re: Maruti Fronx @ Auto Expo 2023

Booked the Fronx 1.0 6AT today just in case they price the Jimny 4AT out of range which I booked on 13th . I expect the 1.0 turbo mild hybrid with 6AT to turn out to be a good combination.

2022 Baleno/Glanza is a good car with lots of space, layout and is built better than the previous version and looks better too. The Fronx has improved on what the BaGlanza twins offer by adding the 1turbo mild hybrid with 6AT, improved ground clearance, improved rear seat with proper seat belts for all three and stance. The BaGlanza's fastback rear glass look is retained which i like that makes it look svelte from the rear.

If we are talking about driving primarily in heavy city traffic, a larger capacity NA engine will deliver more consistent performance and economy than a smaller turbocharged petrol engine. Your usage directs you in the direction of Brezza.

Somehow, if you own just one car, a small turbocharged engine will bring more smiles to your face than a large-capacity NA can ever dream of.
