Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Volvo S60 D3 (i.e. 2.0 l)
11.0 kms/l over first 3000 kms, in exclusive city runs (crawling traffic scenario), of about 30 kms per day.
I get instantaneous consumption numbers of about 17+ kms/l often on long stretches. I woudl not be surprised if long runs moved the average to about 13-14 kms/l.

Volvo XC90 D5 (i.e. 2.4 l)
10.5 kms/l over mostly highway run of 1700 kms
about 9-9.5 in the city on short runs (stop/start is cruel on this 2100 kgs vehicle, where instantaneous consumption can show 32l/100kms !).

Since both are diesel vehicles, the fuel cost is about Rs 4-5/km here in Delhi, for my typical usage (sedan for city, SUV for out of town).

I have done over 60,000kms on my swift vdi in 2 years.

Even today I get a consistent 15-16 kms in Bangalore traffic and 18-20 kms on highways.

My previous i10 kappa used to give 11kms in Bangalore traffic hence sold it off.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Winter (yeah, we have that in Chennai for a few months) FE for my Baleno : 14kmpl

All city driving with a/c on but with switch toggled on / off when cabin temperature gets warm/cold.
Have been getting this FE for the past couple months and might last till February, after which it will get warmer here and the FE will go back to the usual ~13kmpl.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

^^^Would help if the FEs were posted in the Indian way ie kmpl (instead of lp100km) - helps save the time/effort spent on mental calculations for dividing 100 by fractional values.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My daily commmute increased significantly and so did my FE (thankfully, one strech of road has no signals and continously moving traffic).

FE in city: 14-17 kmpl
FE on highway: 18-20kmpl

My car: Maruti Zen (facelift) 2005 petrol

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I have observed the following mileage since one year of ownership.

All New Honda City

12-13 kmpl in the city (50% AC)

16-16.5 kmpl on the highway (100 kph avg. speed, 80% AC, including 20% ghat roads)

Fuel: Only fuel from Shell stations in the City

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Swift Dzire Vxi

Getting average of 18-19 + on highways with AC and 10% Ghat sections and some really average to bad roads.

Fuel: I always go for either BP or HP normal Petrol.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I measure the FE with every topup using an Android app.

Car: Hyundai i20 CRDI Asta 2012.
Mileage: 9000 km
  • Best FE ever = 23.19 Km/L (90% highway run)
  • Average FE = 18.76 Km/L (50 - 50 city highway)
  • Worst FE ever = 16.86 Km/L
  • Avg Cost per Km = Rs 2.43

Surprised? Well honestly I was!

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Another favorable update on my car FE figures. It seems to be increasing as months pass by

Last tank-ful got an amazing city mileage of 13.50kmpl with 100% AC and Race Dynamics Box on P1 Mode

A huge improvement from the consistent 11.50kmpl that I used to get before the RD box.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Tracked FE of my Ford Figo TDCi over last 10,000 kms. The distance was in the ratio of 70:30 in favor of highway. AC used occasionally in Mumbai.
The average FE number for this duration is 20.16 km/l. Always filled at Mumbai Pune Expressway pumps, mostly the Indian Oil one.
