Maruti Suzuki Baleno Delta Petrol 1.2
Year - December 2015
  • Bumper to Bumper traffic with AC on - 13 kmpl
  • Normal city flowing traffic where you can use 5th gear - 16kmpl
  • Highways - 17-18kmpl
All figures are based on tankful to tankful method.
Also the city in consideration is Mumbai so it speaks volumes about Baleno's frugality.

Isn't it low?
Even I find it low but the people who drive in my family are not so light on the A pedal so can't complain.

Yes. I Drive sedately in city and do a slightly spirited drive in the highways. My average speed in the city is ~40 Kmph. 26.2 Kms is the highest mileage I could ever churn out from the Jazz in City driving.

40 kmph avg speed is a dream for me in Pune. And mileage of 26 is dream even for a highway! Is Chennai traffic that good?

Traveled from Pune to Nashik and back this weekend in my Tiago Revotron. Was able to extract really good fuel efficiency. For the trip of 470 km, the actual FE was 19.3 kmpl. Since it had rained heavily, drove sedately at speeds ranging from 85-90 kmph. The AC was not used for most of the time.

The FE reading on the MID is exaggerated. It showed 23.2 kmpl. But over the past few months, I can conclude that the margin of error is fairly constant (20% higher than the actual efficiency).

Hi,

From my last post in this thread, I've now crossed 190k on the odo:

Lifetime average is at at 17.6 km/liter (around 5.7 L/100km).

The last 100,000 km has averaged at 18 km/liter (5.6 L/100km).

Best recent single tank efficiency: 19.6 km/liter (5.1 L/100km) over a distance of 600 km, full time highway.

Best all-time single tank range: 885 km, full time highway

(The figures mentioned is calculated by distance divided by amount of fuel filled-in.)

Hyundai diesels are so efficient!

Car - Punto Evo 90 HP - 2015
Odo - 74750 Kms
Normal usage - 60% Highway & 40% city - 15.1 kmpl
Long drives at less than 100 kmph speed - 18-18.5 kmpl
Both MID figures.

Car Ignis Delta AMT Petrol - 2018
Odo 7120 Kms
City usage mostly (frequent start-stop or used for shuttles like 2-3 kms) - 13.1 kmpl as per MID.
Only time used for a 600 Km highway drive - 18.5 kmpl under 100 kmph speed.

Similar Highway drive conditions and similar speeds of under 100 kmph, Ignis AMT petrol and Punto 90 diesel gave similar mileage of 18.5 kmpl.
