I am surprised with the FE recorded for Celerio in this thread, is something wrong with our car or our driving style! |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Well, frankly, who needs a diesel? 21.3 kmpl from Ciaz 1.4 MT between Gurgaon and Jaipur. Speeds kept between 80-100 kmph and engine speed below 3000 RPM as the car is only a few hundred kms old. The FE is too good to be true, even if one factors in the margin of error in MID’s calculations |

| ![]() Our 2012 WagonR, which is strictly driven in the city, delivers 9-10 km/l with AC on 80-percent of the time. It's run a mere 31,000 kms in 6+ years and spends most of its time in the peak hour traffic. Our 2006 Civic, on the other hand, gives 15-16 on the highway, and 11-12 in the city. |

Yes it is the 2010 Linea MJD Emotion with 195 section tyres. Average speed comes to 35kmph range, I try to keep it at around 55 and upto 70 whenever there is a clear stretch. Keeping the revs at around 1800 rpm gives better fe in my case. Earlier I used to keep it at around 1.5k rpm and fe was mostly less than 18. Last edited by --gKrish-- : 20th August 2018 at 14:11. | ![]() My Mahindra XUV500 W11 AWD AT gives me 12kmpl via tankful to tankful method. The MID shows 13.5 for the same. The ARAI rating is 13.85 kmpl. In city traffic, i get around 9-10 kmpl, and in the highways i get anywhere between 14 - 15 kmpl. (Again, these are from MID calculations, so actual fuel efficiency will be 1 - 1.5 kmpl less). I was expecting worser mileage, based on the inputs from my cousin who has the 2015 XUV500 W10 Manual (around 10 - 11 kmpl), and somehow i manage to extract more from the AWD AT version. ![]() |

| ![]() My January 2018 manufactured Mahindra TUV 300 T8 (manual) gives me 13 - 14 Kmpl in dense Chennai traffic with the AC on 100%. I have done small highway trips of 200 km a day and i reckon it goes 16 - 17 Km to the litre in the open. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() I am quite happy with the mileage of my car. Verified the average using tankful method for at least 3-4 times. Maruti Baleno Petrol Average - 20.5 kmpl (city driving) Odo reading - 10,800 kms Also, a point to add, the MID of the car fairly shows accurate mileage as well! Trip back from wife's hometown at Thiruvananthapuram on Kerala's MC road, with fuel efficiency in mind, maintaining constant boring speeds of 60-70 kmph and minimal slow downs but 99% a/c on : ![]() But what it actually returned on tankful method : ![]() A difference of 20% ![]() And the onward trip was exciting with a heavy right foot : ![]() P.S : Sorry for the in-motion picture. It was on the empty stretch near my home. |
