Shell regular unleaded is 71.95 rupees in Pune (Hinjewadi) as of today morning.

Wonder why people are still queueing up at the Club HP next door? He is not exactly a "trusted" pump and there is a clear price difference!

Filled up my bike with Super Unleaded for INR 1000/- today at 81.90/liter.

Also, Shell seems to have started a cashless scheme on the lines of BPCL's Petrocard. It's essentially a prepaid card, which will definitely help keep a track on your fuel bills.

Anyone else aware of this? I'm thinking of going ahead with the offer. An initial fee of INR 150/- is to be paid for the card and it will be delivered to your address in a week is what I was told. Hope I did not deviate from the fuel price topic too much.

Thanks Suhas. I have applied for the card since my refuels are always only at Shell and this certainly makes sense. Will keep the status posted here.

How does this card provide any benefits. Do they have reward system or anything like tha?

I somehow perceive the debit/credit card option is better as it provides better rewards than this Shell card.

Of lately, I've been noticing Shell pumps employing physically challenged pump attendants. That too, across multiple Shell outlets. Good observation. I saw that too today at the bannerghatta road outlet. The guy was very courteous and even cleaned the windshield with a smile. I was sold! By the way, price was 73.55/ltr. Wish I could say "fill it, shut it, forget it" with my Skoda Fabia.

As far as I understand, this is just to save the extra surchange that credit cards normally charge you. Not needed if you have cards like ICICI Titanium where it is waived off across pumps. But if your card charges you and you are a frequest Shell customer then it makes sense. From the brochure that i collected from the outlet last time, there is no info on any rewards

Most of the credit cards do waive off the surcharge if the refuel amount is between 400 and 3000 and give reward points too.

So if somebody wants to look at the waiver of surchage, this should do.

Hi Krishna,

Sorry for the delay. I did not notice my PM of the quote. As Rajesh said in his post, this does not entitle you to any reward points or any such scheme as of now. All you can do is purchase any products in their outlet including the car care products etc.,

While I cannot see any benefit apart from the surcharge, I certainly hope they start a loyalty program in the coming months on the lines of BPCLs Petrocard.
