Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread !!

The huge crowds at Shell Pumps will be here to stay.
Govt Pumps will start following a 9am to 6 am schedule in Bangalore city limits and 6 pm to 9 am in outside city limits from today.
Shell, Essar, Reliance and private pumps are not covered.

So expect a good crowd at Shell when you decide to fill fuel on your way to work (after 9 am) and on your way home (After 6 pm)

Sorry, but I did not understand the intent.

Govt pumps 9a - 6p ? Does that mean within the city the pumps other than the likes of Shell will not open until 9am? Does that apply only to COCO pumps?

Shell 75.15 is BS III. Check their website pricing detail

http://www.deccanherald.com/content/...gle-shift.html

I heard this has started from Today in bangalore.
1. All OMC fuel pumps (IOC, BP,HPCL) which are dealer operated and not COCOs, will operate from 9 am to 6 pm in Bangalore until further notice.

2. COCOs are not participating, so fuel will be available at usual timings.

3. Private pumps- Shell, Reliance, Essar etc are also not participating, so will be open as per regular timings.

This is being done by the petrol pump dealer association to press for higher commission on petrol sales. Currently it is a fixed amount per litre sold, they want to move it to a % of fuel price.

Same is the news for Pune, heard on Radio today morning only.

Additionally the ET says the Premium/Branded Fuel has been almost stopped - "Oil companies stop producing premium petrol, diesel"

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread !!

Prices in Chennai: Rs 79.25 for Super unleaded and Rs 72.25 for normal unleaded. Despite the steep price difference between super and normal, there seems to be no steep shift from the former to the latter, from what I have observed.

Earlier the price difference between premium and normal was only 2-3 rupees. When the govt increased the price of premium fuel, why does Shell have to revise its prices? Since it is a private player, I thought it is unaffected by the govt's price increase, unless they wanted to increase it themselves.
What's your view?

Well the govt did not increase the price of premium petrol. It only removed 5.5Rs excise duty on non-branded normal unleaded fuel. So, since these are govt taxes, Even Shell has to follow the same. Hence the price.

Shell Unleaded Rs.75.10 at Vittal Mallya road on 16th October. Down from 75.90 yesterday for BS4. Any update on BS3 fuel prices at Whitefield?

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread !!

Filled regular Petrol today, at Shell @Hinjewadi.
72.90/- but the premium was something 80.**
Additionally they started some win every week Gold Coin scheme if you fill more than Rs700/- (I think) of fuel.
well, I'm more happy with the Petrol price rather than standing a chance to win gold coin!

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread !!

In my regular Shell bunk they are constructing a small service facility. I was informed they will offer water wash, oil change etc. I suggested they stock the oil filters of at least the popular models, otherwise the oil change will not attract customers.
