Yeah, infact the prices of Shell in Hyderabad is highest in the country.
I also filled Shell twice but then later moved back to IOC pump besides Kalaniketan just after you get down from the Panjagutta flyover.

That IOC quantity and quality is equally good. Though Shell has an extra edge, and engine feels super smooth running on Shell.

I filled up today, a bit earlier than usual. The Oil companies I believe are planning a Rs 2 petrol price hike due to the weakening of Indian Rupee vs USD (the govt. it seems has no courage to touch diesel prices).

OT: On a different note, I'm frustrated with the Shell Rajkumar road outlet. Their air filling unit has not been working since many weeks now. This is now like an annual affair. Can't understand the mighty Shell can't get a permanent fix for this.

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

Shell in Pune as of today morning was 70.50 Rs per liter. They will surely hike prices again, along with the PSUs, as they have been doing. :(

^Normal petrol at IOC bunk on Nagar rd., Pune, was 68.66 today.
Is the thread title misleading? Or is it just me?

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

The title of this thread is not misleading. As far as I'm aware, petrol retails for 71.xx almost everywhere in Pune. Outside of octroi, e.g. the BP pump in Hinjewadi Phase 2, it's 69.xx which is the only place in this area that's cheaper than Shell (the other Hinjewadi pumps charge 71.xx). Shell Hinjewadi is *currently*70.50, as correctly reported by several here self included.

Interestingly the Shell pump at Ravet (near expressway start) is 2 rupees dearer! No idea how this "octroi" nonsense works, frankly. Maybe someone can explain it?

+1

Shell pump(s) @Kasarwadi is selling @72.8/liter for Regular unleaded (filled up yesterday). It is 70.xx at BPCL in the city.

Hinjewadi is outside of PMC/PCMC limits, so octroi is not applicable here. Same is the case with Shell on Paud road just before Bhugaon ghat.

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

A new Shell outlet has been opened at ORR, Kengeri Satellite Town on 31 December 2011. My Linea had a tankful of petrol costing Rs 73.50 per litre yesterday and got presented with Sonax windshield shampoo concentrate.

Can you post the exact location (visually) using Google Maps? Thanks.

Since this outlet is newly opened, it is not found in Google Maps. It is located on LHS on ORR, Kengeri Satellite Town, while driving from Kengeri towards Magadi Road. This is the address printed on the bill:

Shell Kengeri
Adarsh Enterprises
No.15/3 & 15/4, ORR, Satellite Town
Kengeri, Bangalore - 560 060 Telephone: 080-40217070

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

There is another SHell filling station newly opened in kanakapura main road just before NICE road junction. I have been regularly filling there for 3 weeks now. Automatically my bike is giving 25km/lt whereas in regular indian oil pump it use to give around 19 km/lt. I suspect quantity filled at indian oil.

Are you referring to normal petrol?
As I mentioned normal petrol at IOC pump was Rs. 68.66 (I got a little more than 29 liters for Rs. 2000) when I filled up my Zen.
I asked the attendant about a price increase and he said, we have not received any notification so far.
Is this pump outside Octroi limits? I don't think so since Octroi limit is at Wagholi.

Regular unleaded fuel at BP and IOC hovers between Rs.73.50 and Rs.73.51. Not much difference in prices at the moment between Shell and the other companies.

Just curious, which bike do you ride?

You might want to check the below links and avoid filling from the bunks listed in these threads.

Re: Shell fuel price discussion thread. Update: Going down cheaper than PSU's.

Shell have quietly increased normal unleaded petrol price to 74.65 (from previous 73.50) in bangalore. I filled yesterday at the OMR pump.

Err, 19 for a bike? May I know what's your ride? No offence. Just curious.
