For that You will have to give up the high discounts MUL is offering now for baleno... and without the discounts i dont feel baleno is a "VALUE OF MONEY" as claimed by most people.. These are my thoughts even though i own a baleno....

When you talk of VFM -can you think any C segmant car that is more VFM as compared to the Baleno.

I can only think of 2 cars. THe indigo and the Optra base model.

Ford Ikon, Accent, NHC - none of these are VFM. All of these companies are charging premiums. Honda especially for the NHC and Hyundai for the CRdi..

At 5.80 L Exshowroom for the Baleno Lxi - i don't think it's overpriced.

Logically the changes to the Baleno will be more substantial than small interior enhancements.

They have to be if Maruti is serious about removing the discounts and still intends to sell Baleno in large numbers.

I second that .. else they would stick to more or less the current price (OTR) and make minor changes .. historically they haven't hiked prices as such for their 'new' models .. neither have there been sweeping changes ..

Wouldn't the life tax on the VXi be higher though? Also brings up another question - what is the rate for calculation of life tax in WB?

I don't think we pay life tax here .. It's a five year tax :(
So now you see, it's load more expensive out here .. considering that we have to again cough up a similar amount 5 years down the line .. and still we have the roads we have ..

No idea about the calculation though.

Guys

You must have checked the new ford Ikon 1.6 prices
Its 4.99 ex show room blore
Add another 80 k for Regn and Insurance adds upto 5.8 lacs On road

Wonder what prompted this, did they suddenly realise that the chunk of their market eaten by Baleno....

Any ways here it is The price advantage gone for Baleno
Its purely performance and looks now I guess
WHO WILL BE THE TRUE WINNER!!!!

NEW LOOK BALENO OR REDUCED PRICE IKON...

Any confirmation of the actual changes on the new baleno awaiting with bated breath

i think 4.99 for ford 1.6 is a great price, inspite of me being a fan of baleno; its only for 9 days though
