well i went ot maruti dealership today and the salesman told me that the new baleno has been launched or atleast the dealers have been told about the changes.the rear taillamps have been changed.the orange indicator glass has been replaced by a clear lens indicator like in the case of esteem.in vxi,the automatic climate control system has been put,the same one which is available in the swift.in lxi there r not too many visible changes except the taillamps.good news for existing baleno owners as they can replace their tail lamps with the new ones.rest is the same.....vxi also gets broader tyres dont know the aspect or the width.

I test-drove the baleno vxi a week back. To stand up and count it'll not only need exterior changes but interior changes as well. The exterior looks dated and dull. The interior looks simply cheap and plasticky.

Discounts on new look Baleno LXi

Hi,

I booked a new look Baleno LXi. I got a 50k discount, plus some small freebies like teflon coating, mud flaps, mats, perfume, etc. After some hard bargaining, when I said that I didn't want teflon coating, they said, they can give me 185/70R13 tubeless Pirellis (on stock rims; not alloys) in exchange for the old tyres.

Do you think it is VFM?

Regards,

Pradeep

What is your OTR price ?

The official ex-showroom price difference between the LXi and VXi is now around 83K.

The listed extras for the VXi are as per the Baleno brochure, except those marked with a *

* Auto climate control AC (assumed)
* Better (wider or same size but tubeless ?) tyres (assumed)
13 inch Alloys
Stereo (* maybe a CD player in the new version?)
Rear demister
Rear spoiler (with stop lamp )
Remote Keyless entry
Drivers seat height adjuster
Silver finish console
Leather steering cover
Instrument panel light intensity adjuster
Power antenna

Wonder if all these extras add up to justify this difference.

Whether the extras make the VXi a better buy or not is a different matter altogether.

I'm talking about the "old" Baleno Vxi. After inssurance and life tax comes to 6.55 in Goa. Getting delivery tomorrow, and so looking forward to it.

Hmm... with the launch of the new baleno... maruti appears to be considering a hike in the prices starting from Oct.1.

More on this at: http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/...ow/1242828.cms

It would be interesting to watch the pricing strategy for the 'new' baleno.

As per their price list released 19th Sep, there is already a 12K hike on the VXi .. no change on the LXi .. lets see if they again touch the Baleno prices in October.

Where are the pics

Where are the pics of New Look Baleno??

Maruti website does not have them..

It is not that I am expecting great changes seeing track record of Maruti's "new look" releases..http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/newrep...te=1&p=122615#

As per a Maruti sales guy ..

Standard changes on both LXi and VXi

# The Glass over the front indicator lamp will be made clear (right now it has horizontal 'lines/grooves' I think)

# The headlights may become a bit trapezoidal. Sharper corners he said.

# The square white portion of the tail lamps will be moved to either side of the number plate (somewhat like what they have done to the new Esteem)

# There might be a longer horizontal white portion in the tail lamp cluster

# Tail lamps will have clear glass/plastic whatever , as in the Esteem

plus
# VXi tyres may be upgraded one size. Not sure if it's width or rim dia.
# No new colours, he said !

# No rotary controls for AC - I specifically asked him about this.

Hope they do a better rear styling, and rub out the most irritating and most discussed flaw of the car...The rear styling.. Boxy,,non wrap around tail lamps,,,blah blah....
But still have doubts as they exactly did ulta to zen's rear. I actually loved the original zen's rear side,, but the present one is worse...But i feel they won't go wrong in a baleno cos there is nothing they can do to make it even more worse,,,,
also i would have loved rotary controls instead of the sliding ones, To put insulation on the entire hood, existing ones have only a small piece) to reduce incabin engine sounds, 185 / 14 tyres, better dashboard styling with beige interiors etc etc... Dreams have no boundaries...

Sify reports about new Baleno.

http://sify.com/finance/equity/fulls...hp?id=13950678

The only change in LXi is the rear lamp, price remains same.
VXi gets additional climate control, wider tyres, an MP3 player and 12K Price hike.
