Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Does 11.6 lakhs sound reasonable for a 2023 Brezza VXI AT (petrol) with 15000 kms on the odo?

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

How much should I pay for a 2018 manufactured, 2019 February registered VW Passat Highline ( BS4 2.0Tdi ).The car has run 30k Kms and has Delhi registration which means that it can run in Delhi for 4 more years .
The car needs new tyres as the original tyres are almost 7 years old.
Any input would be appreciated.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hello fellow TEAM-BHPian's,

Need your help with the following. What should be the ideal buying price for -

Car : VW Tiguan Elegance 2.0 TSI
Reg : March 2024
Mfg : 2023
Seller : Individual (not dealer)
Mileage : ~5000 KM
Owners : First
Registration : BH
Location : Gurgaon
Condition: As good as new, no dents/scratches, drives like a dream. The service history checks out as well.
Reason for sale: The seller has recently switched companies and is eligible for an entry level German luxury vehicle through company lease.
Points to note : Includes 4 year SVP and has ppf done by 3M with 5 year warranty; but has no extended warranty (which is priced at around 70-80k for the 5th & 6th year)

Please let me know your thoughts and whether or not I should consider this as an option versus a new one. Thanks

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi everyone,

I'm in the market for a second-hand hatchback for city driving in Faridabad. I came across a June 2022 Ignis Sigma with 35,000 km on the odometer. The seller is asking for ₹4.8 lakhs (negotiable). It comes with added accessories like a stereo and a reverse camera, and the service history is available. What would be a fair price for this car?

5K is as good as new. Should be a good deal if the price is right.

How does resale work with BH registration? What if the buyer is not eligible for BH? Wouldn't that create a large arbitrage opportunity?

Yes. The asking is 28.

As far as I have come to know, the procedure for resale to a BH eligible person (in a territory giving out BH numbers) is almost same as any other resale, just that during RC transfer, along with the other documents, the Form 60 of the new buyer would have to be submitted.
However, for a non-BH eligible person, the procedure for resale is quite similar to transfer of ownership of out of state vehicles - one would have to pay the residual road tax, as applicable, and complete all other associated formalities associated with RC transfer and registration.

I bought a 2020 Sep Ignis Delta that had run 17k km and was in mint condition for 4.4 lakh. Now NCR prices are lower than in Maharashtra and the Ignis is heavier discounted at the moment, so 4 lakh would be generous in your case.

Ignis Sigma brand new is selling for 5.8-5.9L on road Faridabad. Much better deal than buying a 2 year old 35k driven car for just ~1-1.5L lesser.

Thanks for the information. I'll begin negotiations at 4 lakhs and see if the dealer is willing to agree to that amount.

I am specifically searching for a second-hand car for my sister. She currently drives a 14-year-old Ritz, which has become unreliable, so I'm looking for something similar to replace it.

What would be fair price for a 2019 Mini Cooper S (single owner, relatively low running and in good shape)?

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

I just bought a 2019 Jazz VX AT from Car & Bike Mahindra First Choice, Pune for 7.30 lakh. Quoted price was 8.25L.

I was eyeing a 2021 i10 Nios but the guy was not budging beyond 6.50L which I thought was a bit ridiculous. The Jazz was offered by the dealer as one of those cars that don't "move" as well as the Hyundai. It was single-owner, almost mint and run only 19,000 km. I negotiated the price down by almost a lakh, so was quite satisfied with my purchase overall.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

There is a huge difference in price when we try to sell and when we try to buy. The online platforms also seem to be cluttered with dealers.

I too feel the same.
The USED Car market is a very dynamic market. The price depends majorly on supply and demand.
One cannot determine the right price of a
Pre-owned vehicle while buying.
The big players have come but it has not been beneficial for the end users just dealers are making quick buck.

Bhpians do share your method of evaluating the right price of a preowned vehicle.
