Hello Evoque,
M&M has omitted the below features from the SLE,vis-a-vis the VLX :-
- Airbags
- Tiretronics
- Cruise Control
- Micro hybrid
- Steering Audio Controls & some more small features that I don't remember. For full features list see here :-http://www.mahindrascorpio.com/new-scorpio-model.aspx#

I have almost finalized a vlx recently but held back considering the advise of our dear t-bhpians a few posts ago on the same thread.
If you're keen to have a Scorpio, I guess the one you checked is pretty decent. Go with your gut feeling, dont go with just our suggessions!!!

What is your take on an Octavia 1.9 TDI (Rider) from 2006.
I'm not too keen to buy a car that has been discontinued for some time, from a manufacturer whose A.S.S is not exactly trouble free.

Varun

7 lakhs is way too high! The model is discontinued, and the resale of Civics are known to be on the lower side. I would ideally not pay more than 5.5 to 5.75lakhs for the same in Mumbai.

How about this one please.

Honda civic VAT 2007 with a dealer. Delhi registration. Driven 47,000, second owner.
Asking 4 Lakh, negotiated to 3.65 lakh.

Is 3.65 Lakh a good price and the best way to get this car checked ?

Have the car thoroughly checked, since it is a 2nd owner car and with a dealer. Try and verify the kms run. If the condition is great and you get the service records as per the kms run then it is a decent price.

My friend is planning to sell his Vento in Kerala:
- Vehicle manufactured in Nov 2011
- Bought and registered in Mar 2012
- 14000km done so far, first service done at 1 year completion
- Highline diesel

He is expecting 9.25L for it. Is that a fair price?

How reliable are carwale prices for used cars ? I find them to be on the lower side, but many buyers follow it like its the bible and aren't willing to pay a paisa more than what's quoted online. They don't take into consideration various things like extended warranty, usage etc at all
Any pointers on what can be used to bargain with the buyers for a higher price ?

Anything around 4.5-5L will be a good price,Civics have a bad resale in this part of the country.

Are you referring to the used car calculator is Carwale ? I don't think its very accurate. On the other hand if you look at ads put up for sale of used cars in carwale, prices will be high because it is totally dominated by dealers. You may refer sulekha for a better refernce pt and of course this thread has so many details of used car prices. Pls post your exact requirement.

Take the car to a Honda service station and get it thoroughly checked up.Civics have a engine mount problem and this needs to be checked. If possible go for facelifted version as it less troublesome than older gen with respect to atleast the mounts.I think one should avoid cars which have more than 1 owner if you plan to retain the car for a long time.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

I plan to put my Verna on the block.

It's Feb 2008, high end diesel (CRDI SX ABS); single owner, serviced timely, maintained as recommended by the manufacturer and accident free. There are also some accessories.

What is a fair asking price?

Many thanks,

My friend has been offered a 2010 E 220 cdi that has clocked 30k for 27lacs.
No accidents, single owner and well maintained. What do you guys think. Since nobody in our circle has ever owned a merc. Just wary about the ownership cost and have heard about the monstrous service costs of merc. Please throw some light.

Hello Diffsoft,
You have not mentioned the kms covered by your car. It will be difficult to predict a price without this important info.

Regards,
Varun

Hello sree83,
I'm not too aware of Merc prices in Kerala, I feel it's a pretty decent price. However, please confirm with others. As regards to maintenance, German brands are heavy on the pocket. I suggest you speak to existing customers on TBHP. You will get first hand info

Regards,
Varun

Hello DS,
Around 4L is what I think, this car will fetch. Maybe a little more if you're lucky & if sold to an individual.
