I'm getting a HR26 registered July 2012 Mahindra Scorpio White color, VLX 2WD Automatic which has covered about 25,000 km for 7.2Lakhs. The car is currently in Bengluru and I will have to ship it to Delhi.

Is this a good deal? Over priced?

What is the feedback on the Scorpio AT? There isn't any thread covering that in the forums.

This seems like a really good deal...shipping is another 20K...what is the landed price in Delhi for a new car?

Something is not right;the price is too low for one year old Scorpio.

I remember reading about it in the Scorpio niggles thread. Also, a member Pramods had it earlier. It broke down in Leh and then he had a hard time with M&M, mainly part availability I guess. He eventually sold it off and got a Yeti. The low price could also be due to the fact that there are not many takers for the Scorp AT.

You could try posting it in the niggles thread, you would get a better response.

Was looking for used premium cars and got to drive three of them as below:

Used 320D 2008 model, 47000 on the ODO - available for 18L.

Used 325i 2008 model (Highline variant), 24000 on the ODO - available for 11.5L

Used 2011 Audi A4 (2.0 TDi), 34000 on the ODO - available for 20L.

Condition of all these cars best described as "Fair". All prices are negotiable.

What can one make of these deals?

If your intended run is not going be be over 10-12k in a year, get the 325i and - Low run. Invest the balance amount over the 320d in a monthly income plan to cover for additional fuel expenses. No doubt the 325i will sell at a disaster price when you intend to sell it but the absolute difference (not %) in the your buy and later sell price of the 325i and 320d is not going to be any different. In net the 325i is a lucrative dal assuming both cars are in similar condition plus you will have more bargaining power on the 325i considering petrols dont sell well in that segment.

On another note, the 320d quoted price is at-least 3 lakhs higher than market value.

If it has to be a diesel, Audi looks a better deal.
Else 325i looks a good deal and you could probably further negotiate the price given it is a petrol.

For MH 2009 City, it should be around 4.5 to 5.10 depending on S/V , MT/AT, individual/dealer, condition of the car, tyres, service history, insurnace validity, etc.

DL could be lesser and KA could be more.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

I am looking at an automatic Honda Civic and would like to know a good price for it, in Bangalore. It is a January 2009, V-AT model and has run only 18,000 Kms. It is virtually scratch-less and is maintained very well inside and out. The test drive was very convincing of the low-mileage of 18K too. The car, however, is with the second owner, who says he purchased it from a friend in 2011 when the car ran only 6K. He wants to upgrade to a nicer (think Mercedes) diesel car and is hence selling this. He is asking for 8.5L.

I am contemplating between this and a new Brio automatic, which in Bangalore is Rs. 7,68,000 on-road. Seems very small at the price, but we did not like most other automatic cars out there, within this budget. Any thoughts on which might serve better?

Thanks in advance!

The Civic sounds like a no-brainer here, if the service records, insurance history, up-keep, mileage and test drive impressions are considered. I for one, would buy a new car from a segment below as against a pre-owned (from a segment above), but that's just me. However, in this case the comparison is spanning 3 segments (read Amaze, City and then comes the Civic) and I think that the Civic is a better buy here.

Thanks much! I didn't think of it that way before really. Any thoughts on a fair price for it?

I would not advise you to pay anything more than 7. More so since Bangalore is a diesel market and petrol cars of this size do not move at all, and its also a second owner too. 7 is fair.
