Any comments?
What I have observed is that for any model, the profile of people buying one matters a lot. Models having a certain aura around them attract youngsters who either bite more than they can chew, or get bored easily, even get transferred more frequently. Hate to admit but most of us would fall in this category

Ertiga is not exactly the kind of vehicle anyone will buy on impulse, and the famed engine plus maruti support plus part sharing with swift means absolute peace of mind during ownership. So the only lot selling it would mostly be ones relocating. Not exactly many people with family are willing to do that, which is what a typical Ertiga buyer would be

Does it even make sense to buy a used diesel car run under 30k at this point? I find the prices utterly ridiculous in bangalore (as a buyer of course :P

What do you guys feel?

Sorry mods for the previous incomplete post. My phone slipped and I pressed the reply button by mistake. My uncle is looking for a used luxury car and he came across this 2010 E class 350 CDI done 45000 km for 35 lakhs. He has not checked the car though. Is it a fair price? Based on your suggestions we will proceed with the deal. Thanks a lot in advance

The price should be closer to 30 lacs. I looked at many 5 series options about a couple of months back. Was getting a 2011 5 series for 31 in Mumbai. The car was in excellent shape.

How much can I expect for my 2003 model Lancer Sfxi (petrol), black colour, 2nd owner, Odo @ 70k kms, VIP number. Car is well maintained with new tyres. I wasn't looking at selling but was approached by a known person and offered around 90k-1L. Worth letting it go for that amount or rather keep it till its death? Confused.

Sincere thanks arihant jain for a prompt reply. I just forgot to mention the said car is in Tamil Nadu. He is planning to see the car within a week as he stays in a city some 400 km away.

It is on the higher side, for TN car you should get it for not more than 31 if the car is in excellent condition. In Bangalore similar cars are in the range of 30-33 with possibility to negotiate a little more. There is one in Bangalore with a dealer same specs done 36000 kms, priced at 31 negotiable.

Though the running of the car is not much, it is a 11 year old car, that too a Lancer and you are the second owner. Only an enthusiast can quote around 90k-1L, general car buying public won't even look at it. So if the car is not much in use and just occupying your garage space, you would be better off letting it go.

I was considering the same options in the end went in for a new 3 series got a superb deal in February. 30 lacs nett for a sportsline. Will get the bmw secure package as well. I am so happy recommend you to do the same. The maintenance costs escalate after 3 years of ownership. Buy a new one. The A4, 3 series and c class are a better deal.

Guys, what's the right price for a 2012 Fiat Linea T-Jet Plus in Bangalore? The car has done about 20,000 kilometers. The seller has quoted 6 lakhs in the ad.

Thanks zulfi hansi and arihant jain. Even I had suggested to him to go for a new car. But my uncle has always believed that new luxury Germans are depreciation disasters. He has already owned a couple of Merc second hand cars - 2004 C class and 2008 E class. He has not had any major issues with them and both were about four year olds when bought by him. So it's a bit tough convincing him to get a new car. His running is also not much roughly 3k to 4k per year.
O.T - I have never bought a second hand car so far.
