My mechanic says that the spares are expensive, is that true? Say if you were to compare it to the Honda City? Another said that the spares are not readily available. Someone was trying to source a compressor for the SX4 and could not find in spite of the best of his efforts.

Any help would be appreciated!
Hi Sibot,

Resale of the SX4 is low probably because it is now a discontinued model.

Spares are the same as any sedan in it's class. So far I have not had any issues with spares but sometimes have had to wait a few days for unusual parts. However, my running is very low, so have probably been lucky to not require too many spares. On the other hand, I had to wait a week for a compressor for my WagonR, so it's quite normal. These days ASS stock minimal spares.
Regards,
SS

What can I expect for a used Corolla altis 2014 Dec made?

This is for Bangalore and usually prices are bit higher here

Car looks clean and has low running of 16k KMS only
It's a manual GL variant and misses on cruise control etc also audio system doesn't have much features too

Please suggest

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Hi,

I was considering 2016 Hyundai Elantra SX (O) Petrol with less than 30,000 KM on the odo. Prices on OLX for Delhi NCR seem to be around Rs. 15 Lakhs. Is that a fair deal?

Around 6.5 - 7 Lakhs, good examples of 2011 with low kms on the odo are available in the market in the range of 5-6 lakhs hence a couple of years newer should be retailing at the price mentioned above.

Last Saturday, with the permission of the owner (I still wonder what made him to agree to my request, may be after he knew that I was a member of Team BHP), I took the car on a long drive, a total of 750 kilometers to and fro. I am impressed by the car's performance as it delivered 19.65 kmpl tankful to tankful method. The engine was very smooth and the sweetest spot was to maintain a speed of 90 kmph at 1900 RPM. I somehow fell in love with the car and decided that this is my next car. This will be coming home very soon.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

Is it worth buying a 2013 Hyundai Sonata 2.4 AT with 35K on the odo meter?
Though Hyundai has a vast service network, but how does the car score in terms of cost of maintenance and availability of spares when compared to a Toyota Camry.

Cars24 suggests around INR 5L for the car, where as OBV gives a qoute of INR 8L. What should be the justified price for a decent example wherein the owner claims to have kept full service records.

Any particular reason you want to buy the Hyundai Sonata? Dont find the car to be great at anything.

There are so many alternatives with a 5 lakh budget. Altis, City, Civic, Verna, Duster, Ecosport, all B segment cars (even fresher than 2013).

Folks - what would be a good price for a Skoda Octavia Style 2.0 TDI Sep 2017 Bangalore registered having 27.7k on the Odo. The car is in a mint condition

Is 16.5 a fair price ?

Same car that's in the classifieds? Looks good to me for 8lakhs at least based on the pics. The Elantra of the same year, running probably will go for the same price. Since Sonata never clicked in India and is now not on sale anymore, seems like a fair price to ask. But probably good to stay away like mentioned earlier unless your mind is made up.

With a 16.5 lakh budget (assuming you are ready to buy), why a Skoda with all it's share of horrific stories?. You have better options in the market. All the very best.

Re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread

How much should I quote for a 2016 November Toyota Innova Crysta ZX 2.8 Automatic that has run 54000kms in Kochi? I do not know the condition of the car, but as per pics it looks decently maintained.

Thanks.
I recently sold my 2014 Dec VX AT Sunroof model for 6.5. Discount the variant as you are buying a SV and the Delhi cheaper factor. Add the premium for 2 years since the car is 2016. I think its a fair price. Also the car is very low run. I would get the car only because of the low running itself.
